Post by 22stars » Tue Nov 01, 2005 5:12 pm

okay friends, you've all been a wealth of knowledge to me so far - so let's see who may be able to help here

i scoured the how-to's here and on SRT forums and found ... nothing

what i need is a how to for:

a. stock SRT boost gauge pod install
b. water temp. gauge install

i've seen stuff for the water temp. gauge but it was all on 1st gens. - i want something that i'll understand for my car (hopefully)

if you bought the water temp guage new then it should come with a good set of instructions. Just follow those. It may not apply specifically to your car but it's not hard to figure out with a little thinking...

If you are mounting the stock srt guage pod to your stock dash, then you are going to have to cut it for the occasion. The srt dash comes with a hole there for the pod. Yours doesn't.

i believe the gauge is new ... it has yet to arrive, and they said it was - but you never know

and the gauge pod thing ... i was really hoping someone had a how to - or like installation pics, cuz i seriously don't want to screw that up - you know what i mean? - i could wind up with something terribly ugly

i'm thinking maybe i'll find someone to do it for me...

I think the sending unit is on back of the engine, good luck getting your hand back there though, there is no room

Ok, dead post revival

How does one install a water temp guage? I bougth it used, and have yet to find a how too - it is an eletrical guage, and it has the sender (Auto Meter Phantom).

Anyone with experience, or know how, would be mucho appreciated.

Also, I am assuming that there is a something on the back of the block I have to unscrew and replace with the new sender, yeah?

Thanks.

The sender on the back of the block is the OIL sender if im correct, unless you want to use oil temp i suppose you can use it for the same thing, but not for the water temp O_O

but other than that, uhm, yeah :D

I'd like to know the same thing, ive got 3 gauges, oil pressure, A/F, and a water temp. :)

Just gotta figure it out :-p

and the directions that come with the guage kinda suck... :/

Ok, I am going to try to keep this in the same thread so we have a deffinative answer for some of these questions when it comes to gauges (is that rice? j/k)

The Voltmeter is straight forward and easy to install.

The A/F Guage is easy to install, just takes some work to get it on the right wire - on an 03+ I believe you need a new O2 bung welded in for upstream air... on the 00-02, you tap into the black with green stripe wire. Easy, right?

Now on the water temp sensor - where does the sender go? I have an electrical, so I assume that would be just to replace something that is in the block, or on the head, or on a coolant line somewhere? I know someone has installed them onto an 02, so to keep me from getting flamed about search on the worthless search function on the OTHER org, I am hoping for an answer here :P

Thanks y'all.
