stolen vehicle? wha the hell?

Post by Paul56 » Wed Mar 10, 2010 10:20 am

This morning starts... like any other morning.

I get up.

Look out the window at the driveway... NO Neon... just an empty spot.

I am shocked.

Then I look for my plug-in cord... which is neatly placed on the fence as I always do.

I start thinking...

Then it dawns on me... I left the car parked on the street in front of the house all night. Run around to the front to look... sure enough it is there.

I parked in front to unload groceries last night and just left it there. I NEVER do that.

I go out to move it... paper under the wiper. $27.00 ticket for parking overnight on the street between November 1st and April 1st. <sigh>

It is a bad ticket. Why?

The intention of this parking law is to allow for snow removal during the winter.

There is NO snow on the street right now.

Police simply being robots, following the letter of the law, increasing city revenue and not giving the little guy who ALWAYS parks in the driveway a break. <sigh>

What a way to start the day. Now I'm cranky.

And have this to say about the authorities... :thefinger:

LoL Paul. We are the same here, November 5 to April 5, no street parking between 2am-6am.

It makes for interesting times in the winter if you have people over, and need to park vehicles off the road, but there are snowbanks everywhere.

Here in my town you're not allowed to park on the streets overnight AT ALL. However, the cops feel that giving a sign at the entrance to each subdivision is good enough to enforce the law, even though it's nowhere on the street where I got a parking ticket once.

i seriously wish my development had this law, we have a 2 way street and people park on both sides so there is only 1 lane open for oposing traffic. Makes it really interesting dodging inbetween parked cars when someone comes the opposite way.

yeah its the same way in CT and Rochester,NY. However the plowing is so bad in Rochester they don't care if you park on the streets if it isn't going to snow that night. That is if you live on a side road.

So tired of pissin' and moanin' about the fudge. It's the law, regardless of snow.

Anyway, $27 is pretty steep IMO. Maybe $15, but not $27.

Nope. It's ebay electric boost. :D

I uesd to plug my Jeep in also. Block heaters are nice. I would put the cord on a timer tho. Just so no one would fry themselves during the day when I wasn't home. Some ppl will do anything for a law suite. That and my luck some one would plug something in and jack my electric bill.

Yes... and not only at night but during the day as well.

I have a block heater to make starting easier during our cold temperatures.
