Srt Koyo Radiator In 05SXT ATX
I did a search and figured out that they fit. Now my question is has anyone done one on an 05 SXT ATX w/ R/T Mag intake??? Just curious since I can get my hands on one cheap. I nned to know if I should look for dual Srt fans or not. Mine has dual now but I heard the srt fits better. Any help would be awesome thanks
The SRT fans are a little lower profile IIRC. That would help quite a bit in clearance for the Magnum intake.
You do know that the Koyo radiators do not have an intergrated trans cooler, yes? You can still use it on an ATX, but you will need an external trans cooler.

If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

are they smaller because of this?
Radiator, because of the lack of cooler or fans because of thicker radiator?
Or are we talking boobs?

You have to remember that the trans cooler is located in the drivers side end tank. The core thickness has nothing to do with that part of it. The SRT radiator does have a thicker core than the regular Neon, but that is for more cooling for the engine.

Don't SRTs have upper/lower tanks like the regular neons?Danteneon wrote:You have to remember that the trans cooler is located in the drivers side end tank.

The radiator (for both SRT and non) consists of the core itself and two end tanks on the side. The ATX has a copper tube type cooler mounted in the drivers side end tank. The MTX have no additional cooler in the tank.

The fans should be plug and play. You may have to change the connector on your harness for the fans at worst.

I think this may have been covered in a thread i made when I was in need of a new radiator. I was going to go with the koyo but I noticed the thickness of the radiator compared to stock plus the fans and they seem like they would definitely come in contact with my mag intake manifold. So Its up to you if you want to try it.

That's why I posted what I did...not sure if the dual fans will be an issue or not since the Magnum engine doesn't use them.

This is the best pic I could find of the room that exists with the single fan. The second fan will be close.

Upper tank, lower tank that is what I'm talking about.

My understanding is that side tanks run parallel to the tubes (180º), upper/lower run perpendicular. (90º)

You were having a "Sundance moment" Those haz side tanks.
Judging from the comparison pic, I think there would be major clearance issues with the SRT fan shroud. That thing is massive.

For what it's worth, I've got a KOYO oe replacement rad (not the billet) in my 00, it has the built in oil cooler, not used in my case. Although I use single fans I don't believe the doubles are any thicker than the single. Clears the mag manifold just fine.

The difference in the upper hose is at the thermostat housing. The bend in the hose at that end is why they wont work.randomZERO wrote:Not trying to thread jack but if the srt koyo rad fits in a 2gen will the srt rad hoses be the same too? I want the camo samco ones.

Im not totally sure. I would say judging from the pics that the lower hoses are different. ones with ac have a sharper curve than the non.
