In the front doors i have speakers with ENORMOUS magnets, i have then because they are the best quality speakers i have ever heard and they go very very loud.
problem is that the magnet is just too deep and it dosen't allow the window all the way down.
wondering how far out it can be spaced without fouling on the door panel ... OR even better, anyone who has cut out the grille bit on the door panel ?

Ive got my grill cut out on my door panel but for other reason. It slices right out with a razor blade.

Skytronic Professional PA speakers, but have scrapped those now for a gorrrrrrrgeous sounding Monitor Audio BR2 driver, tweeter & xover but the problem of speaker depth still remains ...

No pictures, but its just the door panel with out the mesh. Your best bet is to just fiberglass something to pull the speaker out enough to clear the inards of the door

its very easy to cut cleanly. it slices out with a fresh razor blade and gives a clean circle around it

I'm not sure if I've ever seen them in use on a car so I don't know how exactly they fit or if they bring the speakers out.... might be something to look at though.

What windows are you talking about? The fronts? The factory speaker won't keep the windows from rolling down...

my mids have a 3" mounting depth and i had to use a 1/2" mdf spacer to get the window to clear. if possible reuse the factory mounting plate as it is angled and may help with a little more room.
to this day i have never seen a car that had the built-in door grilles removed that did not look like ass. if you are going to go all out then just space the mid as needed and fiberglass the doorpanel to accommodate it.

$300 for those carbon speaker pods, thats a lot of cash.
The speakers i have need to be spaced out 1" and i have the spacers all made up already, i have tried it all out for size and it gives just enough room to space the speaker out away from the window
only thing i am concerned about now is getting the door panel back on, i got a feeling the speaker has come out too far for the panel to go back on ???

I just spaced mine out 3/4" and didnt have a problem, i actually have a little bit of extra room. When i put sheetmetal and deadener over the large hole the panel wouldnt properly close so i just discretely put a screw where there was a small space for it on the bottom of the door panel

you should really do something to protect those mdf rings. at a minimum put a few coats of resin on them or at least a few coats of black paint so they don't stick out so much. mdf sucks up water and will eventually destroy themselves.
