MTX tranny fluid Q

Post by DOSneons » Sat Mar 20, 2010 4:27 pm

ok i changed the bushing on my tranny to the boogers, and it didnt really do to much to help my hard shifting issue. i had planned on changing the flid in the tranny but i have no idea what fluid to get, and the people at autoparts stores are all FUCKING TARDS so they didnt know either.

i need help im tired of having to muscle the car into and out of the gears. if someone can tell me what fluid to stick in this bitch and where i can get it??? thanks

What year?

When these kind of questions are asked we really need more info. I would have answered for you 05, but I knew you don't have it anymore.

I'm trying to remember when they switched from an MTF as the OEM to ATF.

There should be a tag on the trans, but I think they switched to ATF+4 being the OEM in 2002.

I personally use Redline MTL in my trans that came with ATF+4.

I use pennzoil synchromesh. You can get it at autozone, it's pretty cheap. I'd switch even new cars to it.

If you're having to muscle it into gear, i'm gonna bet that fluid is the least of your worries.

:withstupid:

Try centering the shifter, and play with the clutch pedal height adjustment. I believe there is a How to for both.

The clutch pedal adjustment helped a lot on mine.

If you want to sell here as a dealer you will have to follow the vendor rules.
