pre swap ideas???

Doing a SRT-4 Motor swap into your Neon, maybe even a 2.4... have questions about it, what you'll need or what issues you'll run into? Answers can be found in here.

pre swap ideas???

Post by turbonick » Mon Mar 22, 2010 2:32 pm

i am swapping the '04 srt-4 engine/trans, etc into my '00 neon. motor is on a stand. i'm going to do a head gasket, head studs, water pump, tensioner, etc. while the motor is out and easily accessable. any other ideas of things i should do before i drop this motor in? any preventive maintenance i should do? or easy mods to do now?

thought about buying an ebay manifold and trying to find a cheap (money wise) turbo instead of leaving the stock srt-4 turbo on there but money is tight so i think im going to have to wait on that. unless someone knows where i can get a good turbo for cheap?

why the 2.0 exhaust cam? do i have to run adjustables to make it work properly? the stok intake cam works good with the 2.0 exhaust cam? or should i get a nice intake cam too?

You don't have to run the 2.0 intake cam. The exhaust cam has a better profile than the srt. Provides for a few extra cheap ponies
