New guy from the other forums

Post by OCTANESRT » Tue Mar 23, 2010 5:40 pm

Hi guise... I figured I'd join up on these here boards.. I've been trolling as a guest and found some helpful info. I own a '05 moderately modded nsrt. Its definitely a fun car. I work in Brea, ca and live in Anaheim a few miles away from disneyland. Hope to see you locals around town..

Saw the SXT spoiler before the SRT skirts so I was confused for a short period of time. Welcome to 2GN! :hello2:

Hey, welcome. I used to live in Cali, but up in the Bay Area. I rocked 5zigen wheels on my SRT for 5 minutes one day, oh and no offense but not such a big fan of the sxt spoiler, either the SRT spoiler or none at all

Thanks for the kind words everyone... The SXT wing is toss up , most people like it, some don't.. Getting rid of the original shopping cart handle was the first thing I did..... rocked the wingless look for a while. Then I felt that it needed something back there so in came the SXT.. eventually I'll get around to throwing on a avs downdraft replica spoiler I have sitting in my garage.

The wheels do stick out quite a bit , 245/40's on a 8" wheel gives me damn near 8.5-9" of width..... It sits a bit high in the front, I've got to mess around with the clevis bolt slots in the front and try to give the tire some more distance from the strut tower before I go any lower. Other than that I'm pretty satisfied with the wheels.. although I didn't mind how it looked on the stock wheels

Welcome!! Nice looking car you got there!

I like the stock wheels better, it just cleans it up more

I tried the SXT wing for a while, but it was too bland for my tastes ... now using a Kaminari KTR2 wing for a different look.
The look of "ultra-wide" tires is growing on me, I may have to try it on my car.

lol yeah I don't pay attention to people that get picky over things on my car.. I like it and that's what matters most...... 'I'm my own worst critic'...I've seen you post up on the other forums, in the LongBeach thread, you should make the trip up there some time... every once in a blue moon a few people local to you get together and caravan up to the meet.

The main reason I like the sxt wing is because most 'common' folk and cops see it and think "oh its just a neon".. and since I run a nice 3"exhaust that ends in a big dual tip muffler; super quite at idle and low rpm.. no badges+quite exhuast+sxt spoiler= no harassment from the local pd *knocks on wood*...I've had this set up for a few years with no problems at all.

I'm with ya on that "shopping cart handle" SRT-4 spoiler/wing/Matchbox Toy. I would not want one either. No wing at all is too bland for me. I like my SXT spoiler, like your too. Gives some sportiness to it but does not attract cops so much as the SRT-4. That's just my $.02 worth. Whatever you wanna do with your ride is good as long as YOU like it. I've seen plenty of Neons with mods that I would never want for myself, but give props to those who are happy with it.

Sup,Aye. Car looks good. Love the rims. Does stick out a bit too much. But still nice and beefy. SXT spoiler gives it a clean, sporty look. If I bought an SRT, I would remove the wing before I even would drive it off the lot. :pukeright:
