'04 srt swap in '00 neon.....

Post by turbonick » Sat Mar 27, 2010 2:31 pm

im trying to keep the budget low but im running into an issue... should i try to splice the wiring in my '00 neon with the wiring of the '04 motor? i have the srt ecm and engine wiring. or should i run MS and just run the ecm for gauges and stuff? what one is more worth my time and money?

thanks,
nick

04 and 03 are the same. 05 do not have wiring for a battery temp sensor.

Other than that, I'm pretty sure 03-05 wiring are same

This if you need to pass emissions.
Or MS stand alone, but even then there will be issues such as having a working speedometer, voltage regulator, etc.

You need the complete body/engine bay harnesses. IIRC there are like 5 separate ones.

it'd be nice if i just had cash to buy an '03 with a blown motor and a 5-spd. then just bolt everything in and swap the ECU lol i think i found some donor cars for the wiring though

You need all of them. As in stripping every strand of wire from the donor car. Unless you are good at reading wire diagrams, and soldering in wires where there weren't any. The door switches are different, the NVLD system etc, etc. To get a completely CEL free swap, every wire/and some components need to be used.

Bingo.

Or it's the passenger headlight. Either way, it's behind a headlight.

Driver side, beside the radiator, low.
