Actually Vtec didnt kick in lol. This motor (d16 something or other) doesn't have it. And hes using a trans that they dont make scatter shields for. But I agree with the idea that he should have at least had a trans blanket on it. He lucky that the trans is on the passenger side of the car. If this would have happened in a neon you can say good bye to your right leg.

Yeah yeah yeah....Back when I was 15 or 16 I used to know all the B and H series motors like the back of my hand. Then they switched to K series, I got a Jeep as my first car, and lost interest in hondas. So my honda motor decoder is a bit rusty.

M_K, does being Asian really give you that edge on Honda motors?! Like, you were born knowing all the series of motors and shit, right?

You know, it actually does. When asian people are born we are immediately handed the "Asian Handbook". In it are things an asian person has to master, guidelines on how to be socially awkward, and perks and privileges of being asian.

I cant disclose every detail but here are a few.

- All asians must achieve and maintain a 4.0 GPA in any education subject involving math and/or numbers. One must obtain the 4.0 GPA during pre-school and maintain it throughout Grad school/master programs.

- All asians must consume at least 3 dishes per week where rice is the main staple.

- All asians must give any other asian he/she meets/sees the "nod". This strengthens "asian-to-asian bonds".

-All asians must have a exceptional knowledge of any and all electronic devices no matter its country of origin.

- All asians have the inherent power to shut off/halt "The Internet", in its entirety, at any point and time. This also includes Internet access on any 3G/4G cell networks.

- All asians have the inherent power to shut off/halt cell phone service as they see fit.

- All female asians are not to be exceptional drivers. All asian females must carry at least 2 points on their driving record at all times. Some approved female asian driving techniques include but not limited to backing into poles, signs, shopping carts, and other motor vehicles. Crossing over 3 lanes of traffic with no signal. Driving exactly 14 MPH over or under the posted speed limit. ect.

While all those are extremely valid and proven true, I had a recent situation where very little of these were met. By an Asian. Either way, natural-born Honda knowledge can only get you so far.
