SRT-4 Cooling Hardlines

Post by Cbussilver01es » Thu Apr 01, 2010 4:36 pm

I don't really know where to ask this question but I will give it a try...

On my turbo set up, I switched from using my stock hardlines to using the srt coolant hardlines.. My question is after I hooked all the hoses back up to the heater core, the hardline still has one more nipple, that I think ran down to the oil cooler on the srt-4. What would be a good way to cap that nipple since I dont have anywhere where that line can go?

I would just cut a short piece of heater hose, and get a 1/2 copper sweat fitting cap, insert it into the hose, and clamp it all in place.

Or remove the heater tube assy, and solder it directly onto the end of the nipple, and repaint.

(Unless someone chimes in and tells you that you need it for something.)

you should put your stock hardlines back on and sell me those i need a set. The nipple goes to the turbo for coolant.

Yea why would I do that...? And the nipple Im talkin about isn't the one that is on the top of the hardline, the one I was talking about was grouped back with the two Outlets that lead to the heater core. and I tried the stock hardlines from the 2.0 I got tired of using a bunch of brass T fittings in order to handle my coolant feed and return...

And thanks occasional demons I will try what you suggest I work at Home Depot so I might just see what I can do the next time I hit the plumbing aisle.

I have no idea what it looks like, or the diameter, but at least you have some direction to go in. :D

I actually found a short rubber hose that is the correct diameter, and its only about 6" long that looks as though it will work PERFECTLY

i would try to use as short of piece as possible or a rubber cap. when i deleted my oil cooler i just rerouted it and ended up getting a hole rubbed in it. wasnt fun to fix.
