SCHEDULING CLASSES FOR NEXT SEMESTER SUCKS!!!

Welcome to what a majority of us have been dealing with for the past few years. Try transferring schools and then getting good time slots...

They base your enrollment date on:
-Class
-Credit Hours
- *possibly* GPA
-Last name

I know here at school now, everyone enrolls within like 5 days of each other. At the same time, not a lot of sophomores are taking 400 level courses, so most are full when I'm trying to get in them. While that's happening, I can still snag general education courses that have like all 30 openings left because I'm enrolling before freshman and incoming freshman. It's college man. Enjoy it. If you're lucky, you'll get to go for 5 years like many of today's students

Oh yeah, I'm not talking about doctors or CPAs, either.

haha yeah i am smart enough to not need something over than 5 years haha... mechanical engineering major that is mostly all math/physics courses that fill up uber fast

Eff that. I started off in marketing. Quickly realized I didn't give two shits about writing. Now I'm in communication and minoring in graphic appeals or some shit. Basically advertising. Writing / Analyzing is FTW.

For those science major, I think there will be less and less people when you start taking upper division courses. I'm senior years and taking a important major course for both Chemistry and Chemical engineer and there're less than 40 people in the class right now.

There are some courses force the people to reconsidering their major...

That's why I make my 100 mile round trip drive to school every Monday and Wednesday this semester for 1 class that I am usually in for about 30 minutes.

I'm a professional graphic designer that never went to college. It's overrated. What's this nonsense about being a garbage man? (although they probably get paid more than me)

There are definitely benefits to going to school, but there are some of us who end up pretty lucky without a bachelors degree.

I do have an associates in mechanical engineering technology, but I'm in an electrical field.

Try getting into "wines of the world" or "beers of the world". Now those classes fill up fast!!!

I feel your pain tho, RIT opens registration at 6am so you have to be up at 5:50am and on the website constantly refreshing the page till you get in otherwise the server's get full and some important classes might fill up to quickly. Once you get into your mainstream classes things will be easier to get into. Most of my Electronics classes only had 15-20ppl in them max.

5weeks 2 days 23hrs till graduation

That's just it... luck. Without a degree it's basically up to luck that you'll get a decent, GOOD paying job. I hate college as much as the next guy, but I see it as a necessity in this society if you want to get ahead in a reasonable manner.

Oh, as for registering for classes.... yeah, that's for the birds. I'm supposed to be graduating at the end of April (fingers crossed...) so no more scheduling for me!

In the Netherlands you'll be considered lucky to have any classes scheduled at all..

the new craze here is 'self-studying' which means as much as "you pay, we'll test something sometime and you either graduate or fail. good luck" >_<

Anyway, almost finished here, in 6 months you're talking to Marcel, bachelor in (mechanical) engineering

What's wrong with a little luck every now and again? Other times it actually skill in that you fill a void that a company has.

I got sick of being fucked over by schools. I had 4 years of school in and had another 3 years to finish it.

There's nothing wrong with luck at all! I'm just saying, I wouldn't leave my career up to luck. I'd rather have the degree with the skill set to just get me a higher base pay to begin with.

well i just decided that so i dont have to be a super-senior i am gunna try and take some classes at ccac this summer... along with working full time.... no free time should make the girlfriend really happy... oh well thats life... as long as i can still make it to carlisle

Just make sure that the classes will transfer towards your degree at your main school.

If they don't you are just wasting your time.

That, and IMO, there is nothing wrong with an extra semester or year. Get the education, and understand what you're learning. I've got a massive fear of not remembering anything I learned in college

CCAC: Best decision I ever made... Took Calc I at Pitt. C+. Took Calc II at CCAC: A. That was like like the best $450 or whatever I ever spent. Too bad that didn't count towards my GPA. a 4 credit course with an A would help me out big time!

Adam: I can't remember what I'm currently learning in college!
