I was doing some work on the Neon and took the bottom half of the Magnum mani off and WOW, a good bit of oil pooled up in there. This should alleviate that and keep things clean in there.
I'll have pics up after the install

Sometimes I like to splurge. I figured it will look nice and match my black CAI.
I was looking into the eBay ones, but I've read that they are prone to leaking.

Yeah, the PCV valve is in a retarded position, I hate taking hard right turns. A real fix is a 1g valve cover swap. Until I buy this catch can from Jegs, I gotta stuff a rag in my IM every once and awhile to soak up the oil.

I made mine for less than $10. I used a venom drink bottle, some barb fittings from autozone, and JB weld. A splash of paint I had lying around from the dealer and I was good to go!

So many neons so little time.

I have this one installed right now... it's not bad. Won't hold a lot of oil in it.

Sorry we don't like stuffing a rags in the IM every month to get the oil out.

Aww muffin, does that little bit of oil at the bottom of the IM scare you?
And Owned, seriously? Standards for ownage must be dropping faster than the re-sale value of my neon....

Mine is a craftsmen from sears. $20. I mounted mine right in the stock airbox. Holds quite a bit. That one is nice. Does that one have the nut on the bottom for a drain? If so there a pita to break loose.

No prob. I had the money saved so I bought it.
I almost got a version similar to the Jegs one mentioned above, a Summit racing one, but I figured I 'd be more exuberant
DingoR/T04: There is a drain at the bottom. Modern sells an attachment hose and fitting for the bottom for easy draining. It's $10 , but I held off on that...I'm not a total boob

I'll agree on the seatbelt covers. you only need an upgraded ignition if you have quite a bit of after market parts and are messing with the timing of your car. with MOST neons it just serves as a dress up item. As far as the catch can goes. It does prove useful and I think most will agree it can prolong the life of your car too along with other proper upkeep. I don't have one on my ACR so I'm curious to see how much oil, moisture, etc. may be lingering at the bottom of my manifold. As far as SRT4's its recommended that you get one, it can help out the turbo, engine, etc. and once again the more modifications you have the more something small like a catch can may be useful =)

Yea I'm pretty sure almost everyone here will agree that a catchcan is useful.
Idk about you, but I'm pretty sure air is the only thing supposed to be going through the intake manifolds. And it's not like I get a drop of oil a month. The "homemade" catchcan is about half full...

I have an 02 neon with a couple add ons.. and the catch can works... I check it fairly often and the oil you drain out of it will prove your curiosity true... they do work well.. they will prolong the life of your engine and they do look nice...

Oh no, the little oil puddle of death!
A little oil chilling out at the bottom of the IM is no big deal. It only ever concerned me once, that was the first time I saw it. Once I found out what it was from (ie not a major problem) I just let it be. Having a catch can will NOT prolong the life of the engine here....
only thing the catch can will do is make you faster by lightening your wallet and making you feel warm and squishy. That and the LOOK AT ME factor when you open the hood.

that picture doesn't show what's getting sucked into the combustion chamber...just what's left over. i understand your point though, and everyone has there own opinion. catch cans have been discussed on here almost as much as cold air intakes...
bottom line, some cars/people need/want catch cans and some don't...me? i got a $25 can off of e-bay. did the OP spend your money on his can? no..so what does it matter? it doesn't. i do, however, agree with your avatar...fram filters are poop.
BTW..i have seat belt covers on my rear seat belts because they say neon and they look fly.

Depending on how you drive, a catch can is very useful. Just a daily driver that you drive in a way that Mom won't get her panties in a bunch? Don't get one. Drive like I do were every on/off ramp is a good place to sample the handling ability of your car, or if the car sees track (road or auto-x) time at all? Get one.
