There are multiple things that will set it off. Turn signal left on too long, door ajar, etc.

Mine does that sometimes - when the car is stopped and I pull the e-brake before I turn the ignition off. I just ignore it and turn the car off.

Mine does that sometimes after starting and then immediately backing.

Are you asking me? Dealership checks every 3K and says that level is okay. Should I be concerned? Brakes are factory, nothing has ever been done to them (almost 46K miles).

GF's '05 does it quite often. Never payed attention to what was happening at the time though. I can tell you one thing, I maintain that car meticulously (just like mine) so it's doubtful that it's engine/performance related.

Ha i noticed that this morning. I opened the door first before getting the key out....It thinks you left the key in the ignition.

I've noticed it most often when I'm at my post office- there is a slight incline where I park (front end higher than the rear) and the chime sounds after starting and then putting the car into reverse.

I just know it to be a symptom of a chime that would be hard to find, but since you are tiptop of keeping maintenance good i guess that isn't a problem.

^^I hope that I'm not missing something. I've just chalked it up to my car wanting attention (I just pat the steering wheel reassuringly and drive on).

Sometimes taking sharp curves my car does it with a quick flash of the oil light.
