Unluckily, on the other side, the color difference is a little bit too obvious. Hope the TAN fix it lately:

LOL I can even see some reflection of the old place of side molding on the ground...

Thanks. Because the flashlight may make it more obvious than it should be. Today I notice it's not that obvious in the daylight actually. I just wonder if the sun will take care of the strip mark?

I used that razor blade after all. Dental as Chris said did not work since the tape inside is 10 years old and they are really tough. End up taking more than 1 hour to finish the final clay and polishing.

Still can see the color difference pretty bad but better than with the flashlight. and i'm still waiting for the nice Californian weather to loose some glue residues that cannot be removed easily.

I just claybar'd my hood yesterday. Been a few months since I did the whole car, I might work on some more today. Takes me about 12 hours to do the whole thing (including wax) so I do it in pieces.

Looks good btw!

Wait a minute, liquid claybar doesn't actually use clay does it? Real deal FTW.

No. liquid claybar don't do well as the real claybar does. Actually it does the polishing which i find out with doing my headlight restoration. There are some clearcoat defects under the molding so I used both liquid clay and some polishing wax to fix it.

Now the only thing i'm worrying about are those ghost lines. Will they go if expose in the sun? The car has been taken good care of during its whole life time. (bought brand new as a show car in 1999 actually). So paint everywhere is quite good. It has been exposed to the sun for more than 10 years. So will it take another 10 years to mix the paint? LOL

You are crazy

As for the paint discoloration & defects, one thing that I did which helped a lot was a pre-wax (cutting wax) meant to diminish/remove swirls and fine scratches.

I did something with the rubbing compound and polishing after rubbing. Did not help a lot. They did make the surface smoother actually, but didn't go further.

I might just wait for the result of long time tanning...

i think that only the srt's look good without the moldings because of the side skirts, some neons look ok with them off but over all i like them on.

This.

Mine won't be coming off anytime soon. I like it wouldn't look right without them.

^doesn't look right just after you take them off. But it looks much better after a while when you are used to it. haha. This happens to me.

Yeah actually everyone has different tastes on the car. In my opinion my car looks better without them except the color fading things.

I found it in the Target when they are on sale for $10 each. I think WalMart may still carry them. They work great with some really heavy stains and may smooth out the swirl marks for a little while.
