Leaky Trunk

Ok my problem is my trunk filling up with water, when it rains I get water in my trunk and then into my spare tire hole. Thank god last summer I Rino lined my trunk lol no rust but still my carpet and stuff in the trunk is getting wet can anybody help.

It's a very common problem.

You need to seal up the tail lights or replace the tail light gaskets.

There is a how to on how to seal them up in the how to section. Or you can just go get a new set of gaskets from the dealer.

I replace the seals and then sealed them. I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to be dealing with that hassle again anytime soon.

also check the 3rd brake light gasket i had a problem with that one to... just replace all the gaskets there its not expensive ne ways..

My weather stripping is bad on mine and water gets in around it so that could be an issue too.

lay down the rear seats, sit inside partially in the trunk and have a friend throw the hose on it. you should be able to tell where it is coming in from, and my money is on the tail light seals.

that's essentially what I did after I sealed up my tail lights and found out it was the weather stripping.

That happened on my 1GN so I just bought and installed a new CHMSL rather than try to fix the leak.

Were do i find the tail light seals at? and about how much do they cost? Do new aftermarket tail lights come with seals?

I think mine cost me $8 a piece from the dealer, but it might have been $6.
