Yes, that's done AFTER the trans is in. Everything I have ever seen and read says you install the TC first onto the trans snout, THEN install the trans into the car. Otherwise the TC may not seat properly and you blow up your trans.
May want to check that before you fuck everything up...

yeah there are balls.... i was tired of people telling me that neons have no balls.... it may not have balls performance but i sure as hell have balls now... and there is no way to bolt the t.c to the flexplate while it is in the transmission because you have to turn it to get to all the bolt holes and the only way to do that is to do them separately... my buddy has done it a few times and he works in a garage... idk though.... maybe you are right

well it might not be n/a for long... my buddy with a stage two said he would sell me all of his stock shit for $100.. and he would help put it in... and about the t.c., i just put it back together the way that it came apart and the way that the directions that came with the t.c. said to... we will find out...

yeah i know... this summer i will be working full time so we will see if it goes down or not... and yeah, the directions said to fill the t.c. with about a quart of atx fluid and then bolt it to the flexplate and then slide the tranny on.... it just isnt possible to get to all the bolts if the tranny is covering the the part that the trans snout goes into which you have to turn with a wrench to get to all the bolts... idk... i gave up because of frustration and it is getting towed to my buddies shop for them to find out why it wont start.. we will see

Well, from what I've heard/read etc you get the one or two bolts started that you can, then you rotate the engine by using the crank bolt (after removing the spark plugs) so that you can get the other bolts in.
I hope the non-starting issue is nothing serious!

Just confirmed with Frank (racer12306) and you probably bound up the trans when you put it all back together which is why it won’t start. You absolutely are supposed to engage the tc in the trans before installation, and you use either a flywheel turner, or a breaker bar on the crank bolt to turn the motor over and get all of the bolts in.
If the car hasn’t gone in yet, pull it back inside and try doing that (spin the tc to engage it into the trans properly) if not, you may want to tell them that you suspect the tc isn’t installed properly, and they can start there.

Yeah, I've never heard of bolting they TC to the flexplate first. If there is an "inspection cover" on the bottom of the bell housing then you can get all the bolts between the TC and the flexplate tightened without a problem.
You just need to get one started and then spin the assembly til you get to the next bolt. Also don't forget to get all the bolts started and then go around again tightening then as they should be.
