LOL every picture I've seen him in, he was wearing sun glasses.TheRandom1 wrote:He's wearing sunglasses because he got his ass kicked last weekend!
jk man, he's pretty cool, and awesome you got your pic with him!
I must admit, frankie edgar did a great job against bj, however, I don't believe he did enough to win.

i agree that bj wasnt himself...i even heard that one of his trainers, rudy valentino, said he had a sinus infection and was really ill in the last 2 weeks leading up to the fight.
i dont agree that frankie deserves the title tho.
if the judges gave the fight to machida (which shogun clearly won) because "you cant take away a champ's title in a close fight", they should at least be consistent with their decisions.
doug crosby is an idiot.
he was on his book tour for "why i fight". i finished the book in 5 days...which is pretty fast for me considering a book of that size usually takes me a month to read lol...but it was so interesting that i couldnt put it down! he has a really lazy autograph lolDOSneons wrote:thats awsome u met him, wish fighters would come do meet and greets out here in the midwest

all frankie edgar did was stay more active. if you look at the fight metric numbers, bj out struck edgar in virtually every category. he landed the cleaner, more powerful strikes as he is an excellent counter striker. edgar landed some shots, but when it comes down to it, all he really had was more gas in his tank and had excellent head movement, giving the illusion that he was the better fighter.DOSneons wrote:i agree about the machida fight, but frankie clearly won that fight.
dont get me wrong BJ is my favorite fighter but he didnt even come close in that fight
I still say something's not right tho, bj's corner repeatedly told him to take edgar down and use his jiu jitsu, which he never did. he could have taken edgar down, even tho edgar has good wrestling, bj has an under rated takedown ability.
I was suprised that edgar was able to take bj down, although bj is really good and popping right back up and avoiding any damage what so ever (in the lightweight division, welterweight is a different story. those guys are a lot bigger and stronger).
in the end, if you look at effective and clean strikes, you gotta give the belt back to the prodigy.

takedowns only really count if you can advance your position but as soon as they hit the mat, bj was up before anything could even happen. bj also stuffed a BUNCH of takedowns, which counted for effective grappling.DOSneons wrote:the takedowns are huge in the score cards bro, and they counted to takedowns.
the 1st wasnt much but it was a completed takedown

13 take down attempts***DOSneons wrote:takedowns count no matter if u advance or not man
there were 6 takedown attempts and 2 were counted as completed
the fact that bj just completely stuffed all of those attempts outweighs the non-effective takedowns.
there has been a lot of debate on who won, and if it's really that close, you can't take the champ's belt away, once again, look at the shogun fight.
