spark wires

Post by joeyz » Sat Apr 24, 2010 12:51 am

Ok so I made a mistake and ordered spark wires for a 2.4L engine (PART NUMBER 234019) and I drive an 05 sx 2.0.

So is this a big deal or are they still compatible? Or will I have to get some 2.0L ones, thanks

I'm almost certain that they are different, but I'll wait until someone who knows for sure chimes in.

Yes, they are too short. You will have to send them back, hopefully you don't get hosed on the return.

The DOHC wires will not reach the SOHC plugs.

I have used my SOHC plugwires to diagnose my brother's 2.4. They stick up from the cover by an inch or two.

They (will) work, but only temporary. I ordered plug wires for my car and they gave me srt wires. All but one stayed down like it was supposed to. Until I had time to switch then back I would have to get out of the car and push it down into the hole because it kept popping up. (Sounds so wrong...)

Yeah, I suppose if you stuffed the flanged part into the hole, they would work, but if they can be exchanged, then why bother? If you don't know if they've shiped yet, call and see if they have, and if they can correct it if they haven't. Not sure where you ordered them from.

I wasn't saying try to use them. I was saying they can be used in a pinch. As in if he already has them, threw his old plug wires away and only has these.. Etc..

There are all kinds of good deals on ebay, the luck just depends on how much you know about what you're bidding on, and how much the seller doesn't know, or doesn't care. They just want it to be gone.

I got my fully functioning R/T pcm for just a few $10 bills. The "luck" was that no one bid against me, or wanted to risk it.

Depending on the brand of the wires, they may sell, they may not.

Either way, the 'Sale guidelines must be met, before posting them for sale.
