Mox: Define better tires? I buy tires for my purpose, which is cruising around. The car sees no track time, regardless of the type of track, so there's no need for a super expensive 180 treadwear tire that I'll only get ~8,000 miles out of. These tires are brand new for this season, Z-rated, 400AA treadwear rating and a 30,000 mile warranty. So yeah....I like them and that's all that matters.

Crystal,
Before investing in other things w/ this car, buy coilovers. It was the one thing I never had on my car. YOU NEED IT! Sure, most of the time you may not want to ride low, but for an event such as carlisle where you will be getting media attention, and for further photoshoots and coverage, you must have them, and have the car lower. It's become a must at this point!!!!
Someone photoshop her car lower lol..maybe that will do the trick...it will complete the look...

Would look good if the car wasn't so high.
Not hatin just sayin. Looks weird ridin 4x4. A car with that many well done thought out mods deserves to be lower.

Meh. Its a neon not a muscle car. Lower it another inch and you will be good. A good set of coilovers will do that car wonders.

01goldse: Seems a lot of people do
Thanks
Bill: It's not in the cards, I dislike the slammed look. IF, and that's a huge if, I ever got them I would get the Mopars I hear way too many people telling stories of them blowing and being rebuilt.
Mederois: That would be awesome, I love your photog skills, HDR isn't something I've even tried but you do it damn well!
Korn: Car isn't high, it's just not on air ride or smashed on coilovers. It doesn't look high in person either. It's not 4x4 at all, the stance is there for a reason. Your style is way out in left field and mine is way out in right field we just won't agree on certain things and this is one of them, I like rake I always have.
Neonpla: Thanks!
Mopar_Korean: Finally the only person that gets it.
Or at least the only person to post that gets it. Thanks, the side pipe, which is a true 3" and not flattened out like many others is dangerously low as it stands, if I go any lower it will act as a drag block....and yeah I don't want that.

Maybe I missed it, but are those real 5zigens? I guess I can't see you buying knockoff's but who knows.
I like these wheels WAY better than your previous ones. The car looks correct now. Which... correct = awesome.
I also understand that you bought tires that are functional for how you drive and use the car. That said, something like Star Specs would have looked sick. But been overpriced and unnecessary for your driving.

I actually didn't buy these wheels at all they came on the SXT when I bought it. They're Drag DR-17s which were free plus the price of tires and they worked out quite nicely IMO
I wouldn't have bought them (or the fn's) if I had the choice because I wouldn't have thought they would look right on the car. This was a huge chance I took that worked out rather well.
Yep overpriced and not suitable means I don't buy it because I can't justify it. Especially when it's a high priced item such as tires or coilovers. I actually really like these tires so far, they ride amazingly well and they're super quiet, and with the 400AA treadwear rating and 30k warranty I'm pleased.

Rake is like the front being lower than the rear...
A lot of trucks come stock with a lot of rake.. IE: ass end up in the air.

Click link for example... on cars I like a slight rake, not as drastic as the ford obviously.

Rake means that the car is lower in the front than the back. It helps the aerodynamics, by minimizing the "lift" from air getting under the front of the car. Think in terms of the NASCAR racers.synviper wrote:![]()
I was kind of skeptical from the first pics if i like them or not but these new pics sold me, they look great.
Oh and what does "rake" mean? Sorry ive never heard of it

Hm. To be honest, i love the dropped/tucked look, but that I think for your theme, is god damn respectable and i'll stand by in the "don't slam it" crowd.
Everyone has a different look for their car. You're not following the current trends, you're following a retro theme. It makes no sense for you to slam the car really.
The dumped look will pass eventually, and the "next big thing" will hit, but your car will still be doing it's thing.
Now excuse me, i'm off to find out how low I can dump my box.
