-Cruise
-Spoiler (wewt!)

Just have the dealer pics for now sadly. We wont be picking the car up until Wednesday evening when we get off of work so I'll have a few more then.

It was actually the easiest dealer experience I have -ever- dealt with. We went to the lot, found the car, ran inside to grab the keys. Checked the car out a bit before the dealer came out to chat. Didn't have a whole lot to say about the car and let us go test drive it without him. Went inside, he ran the numbers (tax, title, dealer fee) without adding on any stupid bullshit. No trying to push the extended warranty, no paint or rust protection, none of that crap. I was completely shocked. Hell, even the dealer fees were only $190. Typically around Toledo they're $250+. Tossed down a deposit to hold the car and sat and chatted with the finance manager about all sorts of random shit for about a hour.

Right now, they just have to get ahold of her bank to transfer the money, clean it up one last time so it's shiny, and then we pick it up.This has ever so slightly restored my faith in dealerships. I still wont buy from one though.

As for the over-all driving experience. What can I say? It feels like a POS economy car. Nothing special at all about it. My xB handles better and has more get-up and go to it. In comparison to a neon? Well, it's been awhile since I've been in one, but the neon strangely enough seems a bit more roomy, even with the Aveo5 being a hatch. Seems the neon is a bit more responsive with the pedal as well, but stock for stock they handle about the same.

Plans for the car:
-Tint the windows
-Tint the tails/corner lenses
-Remove anything chrome or paint it body color
-Small drop
-Paint the hubcaps black with a silver lip :D

Nothing to extravagant. Her money after all, not mine. I just want to clean it up a bit and make it look a little better. Personally, I hate the looks/feel of the car, but it's perfect for what she needs. I'd never own one. My buddy had a 05 (?) aveo sedan that was pretty fun and my parents have a black aveo5 of their own. All in all it seems like a pretty good car. Neither of them ever had any problems.

We also still have the SHO to sell however. I've had a few bites, gotta show it off to a few people, but no progress yet. I wish I had the room to fix the engine. It's in damn good shape for a '93, just has too many bugs plaguing it.

Surprisingly enough, wasn't that must rust on the car. Couple of nuts and bolts but the underside is pretty clean. I was surprised

Hell, even for the price paid it's under blue book. I searched Toledo and the surrounding areas for 2 or so weeks, and this is the best I came up with.

What would you get that's 05+ (preferably still under warranty) in that price range exactly? Don't say a Neon either. All the ones we looked at were pieces of shit that had god knows whatever happen to them.

and take note, I am in no way trying to defend the Aveo. It's nothing special. I'm just curious to know what else is out there.

Like i said, they're nothing special by any means. Just another eco-box.

But, to defend the choices, had to be an automatic (she can't drive a manual), has to be at a dealer (bank wouldn't finance private), and that cobalt... I got nothing against it. VIN wasn't listed right, because I just tried to run a report on it and nothing came up. I probably would of went and looked at that had I noticed it sooner.

In terms of the Hyundai. Cheapest car on the website is $9,970. WAY out of price range when all the fees are added, so no, no I couldn't.

Oh sorry didn't know she couldn't drive a manual. I didn't actually know how much a base hyundai was but i know they are cheap for a brand new car plus they seem to be good cars for someone that just needs something to drive. I know you use to be able to get a base hyundai that was manual everything and not even a fm/am radio.

Yup. Her driving limitations made it rather annoying trying to find something. I wish I could of got her a brand new car, but her credit history is also shit and she was lucky to get financed for what she did. The absolute MAX she could of financed was $9,900.

So, for what she needed, this Aveo was the only car to -really- fit the bill. By all means, it's not my choice for something I'd buy. But, auto, low miles, warranty, auto-history is clean, and a good price, it's hard to find something to beat it. Prove me wrong if you can, I in no way will be butt-hurt about it. Hell, if anything it'll help me keep my eyes open if I need to make a future car purchase.

Nope. I meant 'bad', with a period directly after the 'd'. Denoting that I have finished my thought.

Doesn't need anything good to be said about it really. Just her first nice car I'm showing off for her.

Hoping to get her a little into modding with it as well. It's the only car she's had that's worth dumping money into.

Considering the SHO was sold for a grand and she has a HORRIBLE credit history, she got a damn good deal on everything. Something I'm proud of.

I don't think people here realize that not everyone is into a performance driver. We are a minority in the car buying world.

Congrats on the car Josh, sounds like a good deal.
