Price: Trade

I've got 2 BMW's and I'd be willing to trade one or both of them for your Neon in the right shape/combination of features.

First is my 87 325i convertible.

Located in Cincinnati Ohio.

The car is a great candidate for a daily driver. In its current condition it won't win any shows but it seems sorted enough that it would make for an awesome daily. I bought it with the intent to flip it for a large profit but it proved to need too many repairs to be able to make money on it so I'm stopping where its at and trying to recoupe the investment. Don't let this lead you astray.... the car is solid. I just don't have a profit margin if I continue on.

87 vert that I bought with bad top and assorted problems. Problems that I've addressed since I've had it are:

Exhaust which I replaced with a good used unit along with new hangars in the rear
Interior is mostly swapped out from old worn cardinal stuff to good/decent odd blue stuff (check out the pics) but it still needs front door cards installed
Power steering rack was swapped out with a good working unit. New tie rod ends were put on but the car was not aligned. Did the best we could with a tape measure but it still pulls a bit to the right on the highway.
Rear shocks and mounts were replaced with new units.
Trunk shock was replaced with a new unit
Windows were troubleshot and work as they should
Tail lights are sorted now. Had problems with turn signals and brake lights. Found the issues and repaired them.
Transmission mounts were replaced with new units
Fan clutch was swapped out with a known good used unit

As you can see I've sorted through the major issues with the thing and tried to address them. I'll list what I think the car could use to make it a solid daily

Top - I've got another top on a frame that looks to be in much better condition than the one thats already on the car. I've polished the rear window on it and it got rid of a lot of the milky haze. However its still not perfect. The top will come with the car but as of right now is not installed.
Fan - The fan was not spinning when I got the car. It was stuck on one of the lower pieces of the radiator. I'm not sure why it was like this. The fan looks to have been ground down to fit? It also didn't look like it was threaded all the way onto the water pump. I assume what happened was the guy didn't have the correct tool to tighten the fan. He replaced it and didn't get it all the way on. It wedged itself against the radiator. He took it back off and ground it down to work. Since it had wedged itself once, it had pulled the small piece away from the radiator causing additional problems in the future. I replaced the fan clutch thinking it may have been bad over time from not moving. I put it on and tightened it down but it still hits on that small piece of metal on the bottom of the radiator. I believe if you bent that piece back to where it needs to be the fan wouldn't rub on it any more.
Coolant sensor - 2 sensors have failed to turn the light out. The wiring at the sensor needs redone. I've got it jumped just to get the light out but the coolant is full.
Windshield - Has an impact crack along the top edge of it and has spidered from there. Needs a new windshield but can be driven as is. The cracks are on the passenger side
Intake boot - has holes and needs replaced. Has been siliconed in the past for quick fixes.

The body is not perfect but is fairly rust free. As I said its not a show winner but would be a great daily for someone with a dedicated track car or one that they don't want to keep on the road all the time. I ran it down the interstate yesterday with no shakes or other problems. Has the typical rough idle at cold start. Runs fine when warm. Trans shifts smooth and car pulls nicely through 70mph. I live in a town with a huge police presence so I didn't go past that.

I'm asking $1950 obo for it as it sits. I'll continue to tinker with it over time to make it more marketable and I am open to trades. The car is what it is. Let the pictures speak for themselves:

its alpine and a 2 door. Black leather sport interior. Drivers seat has normal wear on it with some splits but not to the point where I've searched for a replacement yet. Everything on it works minus the drivers turn signal which I know what the problem is. Needs a new turn stalk. I've got one that has a loose connection and the high beams come on when you have it turning left and the headlights on and hit a bump *LOL* I put this new one in and it was worse than the old one. AC works and all. AC needs a charge as its only moderately cold. Passenger window is a bit slow. Its rust free minus small nicks in the front of the hood and around the license plate lights. It has a license plate light out. *LOL* I've put on H&R springs with bilstein sports in the rear but I need to put the front inserts and springs on yet. The rear has evened out the rake on the car. Since I've owned it I've put euro smileys and euro grills on it. Also I've put a good eS front valance on it. Its a 325es actually. The odometer doesn't work and that was the last straw for the previous owner. It stopped at 143xxx (I think) and he sold it shortly after. I've had it since last year but only started driving it since I got back from the military in Feb. I've put a German check panel, 2 button fog light switch and 316i HVAC panel in it. I'm waiting on a new euro knee bolster to show up to clean up under the dash. The fan switch could stand to be replaced as it only works on level 4. Typical problem. Its a fairly sound car. I've estimated it to do 30+ mpg. Today was the first time I put over 9 gallons in it to fill it up and I'd guess that I put over 300 miles on it. Can't tell because the odo doesn't work. Tires are new since I've had it. I've got a zender rear valance coming for it.

That snippit was taken from a post to a guy who was interested in trading it for a euro'd VW. The car starts every morning and drives great. Slop in the shifter is the only thing that pisses me off daily. I've got the rebuild kit for the shifter but I'm too lazy to get under it.

What I want

In a perfect world.... an 02 R/T 5speed. I'd entertain any offer on a neon 00+ in a 5 speed. I'd entertain an offer of an SRT swapped 1gn. I'd part ways with the vert before the coupe. Both cars are available for immediate sale if anyone is interested. Let me know what you've got.
