Timing Belt Question

Ok so this might be pretty n00bish of me, but on my swap, after retiming the motor, and driving about 26miles, I have started to notice that the timing belt seems to be slipping of the back of Both of the cams, any idea on why that is starting to happen? because Im pretty stumped on why it is beginning to do that... help would be appreciated.

Slipping as in moving side to side? Do you have a misaligned cam gear or idler? Maybe the tensioner isn't in right?

A misaligned idler, or tensioner would cause the belt to "walk" or creep to one side or the other. I don't see the cam gears being out at an angle, unless the head was milled more on one end than the other, but that would have shown up immediately. An idler/tensioner bearing getting bad, or loose, would let it pull off to one side. I suppose a belt could be defective, but I think that would be a rare case.

A misaligned crank shaft sprocket could cause walk to. I saw that when I didn't have it seated in far enough.

Thanks guys for your answers, when the weather breaks I will be going out and taking things apart, since somehow I managed to snap the tensioner that is on the motor mount bracket, clean off so Ill be having to replace that so I will take the timing belt off and check all the things that you mentioned.

Oh and by slipping I meant the timing belt started in the middle of the cams where it supposed to be, and now it is hanging over the back of the cams by about 3/4" of an inch and I can look down on my idler, and the tensioner and see where its really shiny from where the belt once was resting...

Sooo I found out why the timing belt was beginning to slip off...
