SRT4 Stock WGA question....Whats it spike & hold at??

Post by lilnicko11 » Wed May 19, 2010 11:50 am

Now I understand that this may depend on weather and the time of year. But whats the normal spike and hold on the stock wastegate of a SRT4. From my current knowledge it supposed to spike at 15 and hold around 12 or 13. Is that correct? I am just wondering because my car seems to go right up to around 14 in all gears and hold right there. I just order a Forward Motion WGA yesterday too. I think I am going to stay PCM controlled on boost and not cap my solenoid lines.

Mine spikes 14-17 and drops to around 11-12 at redline bone stock...depending on weather conditions. Never ever seen one hit and hold a certain boost without fluctuation. Turbo is too small for it to not fluctuate.

I knew of a local that had a hairline crack in his green vacuum line that caused him to spike and hold more boost.

Stock WGA & Vacuum lines = 14-15 psi spike and hold 11-12 lbs all depending on weather.

Have you had your car dynod yet LilNicko?

Stock WGA = 3-5psi. Add NGC solenoid control, and it's whatever the stock ECU wants it to be, which is typically 12-14psi depending on temps and barometer.

Aftermarket WGAs bypass the stock control, and use stronger springs and adjustable linkage to make higher boost.

Aftermarket EBCs work the same way as the stock control, but without as much input to make the decision for how much boost to make. (usually) They do a better job at keeping spiking and falling under control than the mechanical counterparts when tuned, but otherwise do the same thing.

Synviper is running up and over 20psi and holding well (about a 2psi drop)
