will an SRT bumper fit?

Got a question on outside appearance modifications. Questions about body kits, exterior lighting, just anything thats a visual mod on the "exterior" of the car. Ask those questions here.

will an SRT bumper fit?

Post by RADARsx 2.0 » Sat May 22, 2010 9:45 pm

I got an 04 sx 2.0 and am wondering if an srt bumper will fit on easily (bolt on) to my car?

I want to know cause it's the same price as a stockie of that year and I think that an srt bumper would look better.

thanks for your help everyone

You need an SRT washer fluid reservoir, other than that you should be good to go (IIRC)

Wow, no one blasted you to "Use the search function!"

Since you got your answer, I won't ask front or rear. :D

You will have hood gap.

And aids depending on where the bumper comes from.

You could say you don't like it, but don't give blatantly wrong information.

Are you sure the hood won't fit?

This thread is about bumpers, not hoods.

The hood will fit, but it will give you a horrible gap in the front, unless you have an SRT bumper as well.

What in the hell are ANY of you talking about?

Steven, STFU.

Tam, you're wrong as well.

An SRT bumper will fit, straight up. Front or back. The hood will overhang / touch your front bumper. The SRT front bumper is "taller" if you will, hence the reason SRT hoods are shorter, thus causing a gap with an SRT hood on non-SRT bumpers. Flip it around (SRT bumper w/ regular hood) and it overlaps / NEGATIVE gap. There ARE pics floating around of this.

Hope that helps Mike

So it's only a small overhang...hmmm...do you think it looks bad or tacky? and will that affect the paint with rubbing or spider cracking when/if they touch?

I think it's completely tolerable. Idk if the paint will crack or split, since I've not done it, but it doesn't look aweful IMO.

Do you really need to change the washer bottle?

I heard that was only if using the fog lights?

^ That's correct. It'll be visible and shit though right behind it. Sort of a pain, but it's much better looking and functional wise (for the fogs).

So If I do the switch, I will need to change the washer fluid bottle to fit the bumper on the car and to be able to put the passenger side fog light in.

Side note I have to buy a new set of fog lights anyway cause the passanger side one shattered when I damaged the bumper last winter.

but thanks for the feed back thus far guys..really appreciating it,

Looks bad IMO with the SXT hood.. I had my SRT front mocked up with the SXT hood and the lines were way off and the hood was literally SITTING on the bumper. I don't recommend it. There's pics on here..

Ryan had a picture of his as well. I lost it, so I'm not help. Also, the fogs are the same, but you'll need the SRT washer bottle or a heat gun to mold yours. THEN you'll need to extend the fog wires. I did it when I swapped my '00 front, and Ryan did with his '03.

Ahh yes, the haggard wire extension... I did it in a hurry and they look like butt. They were soldered though and I covered em in electrical tape. And yes, I had a pic of mine but it was on my cell and I have no way of getting it online with my reception here.
