SRT-4 calipers

Post by SP33DN3ON » Sun May 23, 2010 7:01 pm

Bought 4 of them today!
Is there anything special to know on installation? I am sure they will fit a Neon right?

Nope.

Hope you bought all the stuff attached to them, like knuckles, spindles, hubs.....

A few minutes of searching here could have saved you some headache.

So to upgrade your car to a stock SRT calipers is more expensive than buying aftermarket ones I guess.

Search around a little and you will find everything you need to know about putting an SRT brake system on your non SRT. I think there is even a how to on it.

I searched, can't find much detailed info.
If you can't help me out in my thread or on my question, then please don't post. Thanks.

Short of upgraded pads, no cause any aftermarket caliper upgrades are based around the SRT/PT, in which you'll still need eveything mentioned.

Okay maybe you got my idea wrong, I am NOT looking to swap my brakes entirely. I just wanted to swap out the caliper and thats all.
And I did find all the threads you listed, info posted there isn't helping me a lot.

I don't believe anyone has only done a partial swap. Looks like it's time to go outside and try it out. Not all answers can be found on the internet.

Look at a stock 2gn knuckle, look at an srt knuckle. You'll spot the difference pretty quick. That or when the caliper carrier keeps getting in the way of the srt caliper....

Plain and simple those links for an SRT brake swap are the way to get the calipers on the car. You might be able to custom fabricate a bracket and adjust your current knuckles but that brings up two huge issues. 1) structural integrity of the knuckle and 2) proper alignment of the bracket to get the caliper to line up with the rotor straight.

if you are just trying to be cheap you're looking in the wrong area.

^ Mattman, although a douche at times  tends to know his shit, as does Hansken. If you just look (or do a basic search) you'd know ASAP that they wont just bolt on. If you wanted SRT calipers only, buy an SRT or paint your current calipers red. Do you already have rear disks? Or were you just gonna bolt the other two onto your drums?

You can let this one go. He has received punishment for his actions. I do appreciate you guys letting it go after I said to let it go.
