this is the 3rd or 4th time now i have relisted bc ppl are dumb and dont read everything

i have the shipping high bc i dont want alot of fees, and i have not found anywhere that is says i cant charge what i want for shipping

listen there is no error , i clearly state in the description to look over the whole auction, if you have and questions on the shipping you should have asked me first, i have not seen anywhere , on this site that i can not charge what i want for shipping. it is not my fault you didnt look over everything before just jumping the gun and purchasing the item. you can send the msg to ebay if you want. the only way you will be getting the items are if u pay the invoice for the price, only way it will go lower is if i take the amp and everything out of the offer, and sell just the guitar and the gig bag. and even then i still want no less then $450 shipped for it. and only if you live in the lower 48 states, it says on your thing u live in canada?

How about I pay your ebay fees and you can list it again? I live in Canada and have a residence in Pt. ROBERTS Wash. which is where I wanted it shipped. I'm sure we can resolve this amicably but in any event 1 negative feedback won't hurt.

I understand the fees thing, but people feel more like they're getting ripped off like that. I know I felt like I got hosed when I wont some glass roses for my wife for $10 to realize I had to pay $60 for shipping. If you really want to sell it, you might want to re-list, with realistic shipping, and a reserve set to $500. Or, you could bring it to a cosignment shop.

to a what? what is a cosignment shop? is that like a pawn shop? there isnt one of those withing 3 hrs of me that i know of .

how can you get ripped off when you are getting a guitar that is worth more then the price with everything shipped?

the thing is , they will be paying the same amount either way. i just lose more money doing it that way.! what makes a diff if its 50 for the stuff rest guitar or vis versa?

the guitar is worth btwn $700- 2600
the amp sells local used at music shops for 99+tax
other stuff is like maybe $50 new

i am asking $500 shipped for everything

after paypal and ebay fees, packaging materials, shipping, tracking, insurance im going to be lucky to get $400 out of it. others have gone for $500 on ebay with out anything but the guitar and is rough shape, mine is in near mint condition. ( damn that little stick on the back) but this is how i got it and i have not done anything to it . shit its only been played maybe twice in the last 2 yrs.

The shipping should be the SHIPPING charge..

The price should be the PRICE you are selling it for.

A cosignment shop is sort of like a pawn shop, except you say "I want $450 for the guitar" they'll tack on their fee, and sell it for you.

I understand it's going to cost the seller the same, but it still feels like a scam.

Also, it doesn't matter if the guitar is valued $700-$2600. It's not going to sell if the seller feels like they're getting ripped. Figure out how much you want your profit to be, add in your ebay fees, and make that your reserve price, with a cost for actual shipping. Sell just the guitar, and not the amp. Put the amp up on CL or something. Infact, list it all on craigslist.

On a side note: I know how it is selling a used instrument. I got offered $100 for a Peavey Fury 6 string bass. Needless to say, I kept the bass. I still have my '70 Fender Precision bass also. I was offered $1800 for it at one point, but I love it so much. I've had it since the 5th grade, and I dont' plan on getting rid of it. It has a fretted neck now, and a seymour duncan bass lines pickup, but that's the extent of it's mods.

and i have it at real shipping now. in fact that might not even cover the shipping on everything

If you are worried about covering shipping, take it all into wherever you want to ship it from, and ask them what it would be. If it costs X amount to ship it to the other side of the country, it will at most be that or less if they are closer. A hassle? Might be, but if it prevents you from losing money...

I always check shipping before bidding. If you are not that smart, you deserve to get burned. An education is not cheap. Live and learn.

If shipping is rediculous, and the prices are not any better than same items with free, minimal shipping, I bid on the lesser shippng cost item. If it is a wash, then it can go either way.

ebay actually does respond to reports about auctions that have abnormally high shipping rates. that would likely be considered too high by them. you can ship an entire pallet of stuff for less than that on a truck. we pay about $150 to ship 3500# of parts on one pallet from WI to CA and that's just the one that went out today.

and doing what you're doing definitely is against their rules for fee avoidance. i'm surprised no one out there in ebay-land hasn't reported the auction. not that i would, it's got nothing to do with me.

the way i look at it what is the difference if i charge that for shipping or others charge 175 + for shipping on side skirts? or anything like that, it doesn't cost that to ship side skirts. and i ahve been looking i dont see anywhere on ebay that says i cant charge what i want for shipping and handling if its on there please post a link so i can read it...

Seems fishy Chris. I mean, you know what it's worth, but tacking it on shipping like that doesn't make it "sell properly" or to your standards or whatever. Just list and take the hit. You're losing more money by being stubborn on a price that isn't going to be paid.

I actually would pay whatever the price+shipping shows as long as the total price is reasonable and acceptable. However, I would prefer a reasonable shipping price first if there are two similar prices to be compared.
