I know what you're thinking. You're thinking "Wait a tick! What the fuck, Laverty! Didn't you just buy this in April for 2 grand, and now you want double that? Not cool, dude! Not cool!" Here's the deal. When I bought it in April, it was on expired tabs, didn't pass smog, had a busted windshield, and no interior. Now it's tagged, smogged, has a new windshield, a full interior, it's comfortable to drive, and a car i'd feel okay letting anyone drive. Before it was somewhat of a basket case, and that's been sorted now! I'm also not firm on the price, but I needed a starting point, so I went for around Fair KBB pricing. Anyhow, i'm just gonna paste my Craigslist ad below.
The Backstory:
I bought this car a month and a half ago off of neons.org; needed a car while my other car was in the shop. Once I bought it, I put a few repairs and some maintenance into it, and now I'm ready to let it go. This car's been reliable the whole time I had it, it's up for anything you can throw at it! I'd feel perfectly safe putting any number of miles on this car, I've put on nearly three thousand miles since buying the car in mid-April without a hitch. Title's clear, in my name. No lien on the car. Believe it or not, I hate to let this car go. Driveway is too full, and something's gotta give. I've been having a blast driving it around. All my friends think i'm insane for having so much fun with this car, especially now that my other car's back but ya know what? It's a blast! I love the fact that it's so multipurpose. It'll haul things around one moment, but then dive into a corner the next. It's quick, sounds good, and is just way too entertaining to drive. The ACR package ensures that you get the high output engine with the higher final drive ratio (3.94 vs. 3.55), making for a much peppier Neon than you'd expect.
The good!
2.0l "Magnum" High-Output SOHC engine. 150hp/132lb-ft torque stock. Not the normal Neon engine!
Keyless entry and alarm plus Sentry Key system.
New tires at 67k
New timing belt, water pump, coolant flush at 68k
New rear brakes at 69k
New windshield at 70k
New battery at 71k
The meh!
Check engine light comes and goes, but it passed emissions in April, so it's good for two more years! (CEL is for running rich at low RPMs.)
Car has some light damage to the rear bumper cover.
There's a few door dings here and there.
No front airbags, but the side airbags are still in.
The modifications!
The car comes with a few aftermarket parts, its a pretty quick little car!
