mopar rear strut bar question

Post by farmboy » Sun Jun 13, 2010 9:00 pm

bought a set of front and rear mopar bars off Screaming03neon and am curious about the install of the rear bar. the front went on fine...but the rear doesn't want to line up. would it help if the car was in the air? can i dremel the holes a little more oblong to fit? is the fitment issue because of the BC upper mounts instead of the stock ones? not really concerned...just curious.

Yes sir, I too had fitment issues with the Mopar rear bar. I believe if you jack the car up the reduced stress on the struts would make it slide right on because mine was only off by a hair. I wouldn't know, though, because at the point I did my install, I was getting so impatient that it wasn't fitting that I just drilled the holes out a bit so it fit. No issues or anything and I've had it about half a year.

Nice find on the bars btw. Just get that M touched up.

Rear bar is on. Put the car in the air to take the tension off the struts and with a friends help, loosened the nuts and pulled outward on the strut (then tightening the one nut) giving the required clearance for the bar to fit on. No dremel needed...easy on, easy off. Now...to get these stripped and re-powdercoated.....
