2000 Dodge Neon Firewall Swap for SRT Swap

Post by 2001DodgeNeonSe » Thu Jun 17, 2010 2:02 am

I acquired my buddies 2000 SRT Swap and the firewall wasn't done right. He kept braking the rod on his master slave cylinder. So I went to the wrecking and got them to cut me out a piece of a firewall from a 2002 neon. I looked and didn't find much info on the firewall swap, so I'm going to make a post just for it. I saw some people welded a new piece in and some bolted and rtv it . Here are some pics of the cut out I got. I'm hoping that the people who have done the firewall swap can chime in on how and what they done.

I am in the process of moving, but will start this project in 2 weeks.

First question I have is can somebody mark my pictures below and mark out where they cut.

So I started tearing apart my dash today and got to the problem area on the firewall. Here are some pics. The first ones are what my friends did and and what I had to undo. I'll take any suggestions on how to do this. I'm trying not to pull the motor.

I heated my farwall and banged it in with some ball-peen hammers. Got it to look like the SRT firewall. Cut the whole for the slave out and made some support brackets for it. No problems with it so far.
