Choices choices...

Post by DetergentCandy » Fri Jun 18, 2010 3:36 am

The tires on my SRT wheels are getting really bad - already into the wear marks. I'm not a fan of how heavy SRT wheels are. Nor am I the biggest fan of 17" rims. So...I really don't want to buy new tires for 'em :P

I want to go 16". And since I need new tires soon, I may as well look for new rims as well. Yes?

The two choices i'm interested in, are either 03-04 R/T Fat 5s, or ASA AR1s. Silver, of course

I really don't care to run around on my current tires for much longer because of how low the tread is getting.

So, there's two options i've been tossing around. Either put a new set of AR1s on my credit card, have brand new wheels and tires to drive on, and then sell my SRTs for cash. How much do you think I could get for SRT wheels with balding tires? ~$200?

Or, I found someone on Craigslist who is willing to trade his SXT 7 spokes with brand new tires + $100 cash, for my SRTs. I do like the stock 7 spokes. But they wouldn't be permanent. Would definitely mean I don't have to rush my wheel purchase. But, there's not telling how long i'd drive on the 7 spokes. I'd sell the 7 spokes after I get the Fat 5s or AR1s, of course. Gotta recoup some losses afterall.

So...buy AR1s and then sell the SRTs?
Or trade for the 7 spokes, keep looking for Fat 5s or a better deal on AR1s, and then sell the 7 spokes?

Hmmm....choices :blob6:
02 Neon R/T(Blackula) - Old and busted
05 SRT-4(Serenity) - Sold
20th Anniversary Golf GTI - Sold
05 SRT-4 - New hotness

Out of the two wheels you listed, I like the Fat 5's much better personally. You can't go wrong with 5 spoke wheels.

Or you could look into Rota Slipstream 16x7's. They would look good. I agree, 5 spokes>all.
