Code P0123

Post by SRT-Wannabe » Mon Jun 21, 2010 7:22 pm

Exactly how do you change a throttle position sensor? I looked into the how-tos keyword search and didn't find a topic on this. I have a 04 SRT-4 and would like to know(with pics plz? :D ) how to change one out, since I started getting this code the other day, which explains the rough idles lately. I found some at advance auto parts for $60, so I'm looked for the experienced ones, because I intend to be careful with my baby. Pics coming soon got my phone replaced(Ex-girlfriend=TOTAL BIYACH).

It should want to turn against the clockwise movement. Then you know the spring is good. (From the TPS side, as the throttle opens, it moves CCW. so moving the TPS CW lets you know it is in place properly. If it won't move, it is on the wrong side of the slot. Once you know it is there, just move it back until the screw holes line up, and install the screws.
This is for an N/A throttle body, but I don't think the SRT is much different. If it turns the opposite way, just reverse.

Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.
