Just bought a "new" used..... 2005 Ford Focus ST

Well, I (actually my wife) got tired of not having a/c in my 01 ACR, so I broke down and bought another car. It was a really good deal. It only has 60k miles on it. It has a completely clean title (unlike the couple Neons I looked at

) I'm really impressed with the 2.3L 151hp 154ft/lbs of torque engine so far. Sorry, no photos, yet.

So, does anyone know of a good Ford Focus forum? I need to find improvements to make to the car. I'm sure there's something that could increase the mileage or hp w/o costing an arm and a leg...

Just do what we all do here: custom fit a civic front lip to the bumper, throw a shit load of stickers on the rear windshield, slam it, and don't forget cuda stripes.

It's not that I can't find Focus forums (they're everywhere), I was just wondering if any forum members here knew of any good ones. I guess the worst thing that could happen is I join one, they don't like me because I own a Neon, and I get kicked out. Yep, that would be the worst they could do

Nice find! They seem like pretty reliable cars.

My GF has an 02 ZX5. Its pretty peppy for a 2.0 auto (Zetec). I usually hop on focaljet when I'm looking to do anything to it. So far, in 5 years, she's only had to have the ignition cylinder and VC gasket replaced.

The 2.3 is the same that is in the Mazda3. It's a great stout reliable motor. Congrats on the purchase.

This will by my dd, so no boosting for me. focaljet does seem to be a decent forum, so I might hang around there to find some improvements to make.

First, I need to clean my battery of corrosion.

Second, I need to figure what to do with my "100,000" mile air filter that isn't accesible.

Third, my car needs to be stiffer. I've gotten too use to driving an ACR

Check out FocusSport for your parts and guys that know that car like the back of their hands.

My advice would be to hot hatch it up with SVT brakes and suspension parts, the tallest and stiffest lowering springs you can find and a big rear bar 3 wheeling FTW

Yes, it is a special edition like the svt. As a matter of fact, it replaced the svt. Basically, Ford toned down the engine, but made the car a lot nicer to drive (nicer interior and more comfortable). I'm pretty sure the 2.3L engine in my car is the same found in Mazda 3's. My year has 151 hp and 154 ft/lb tq. So, I guess that means I lost 19hp, but gained 9 lbs of tq over the SVT. It's a good exchange overall.

And yes, I would have loved to have gotten a 2.5L turbo Focus...
