It could have been a faulty bearing from the factory or they were powershifting from 2-3 and went into 1st instead or so on and spun the motor to fast. Its hard to say without tearing the motor down first.

If anything you should be able to piece together one!

It could have been due to oil starvation under heavy cornering as well.

With the pics up, I've seen your car around before. I actually really like the wheel-to-wheel vinyl on your car, man. Were you the one at the Chrysler show at the Dodge dealership the other weekend asking Dave about a spun bearing?

Yea, I thought so, I was chilling there with them. He was a thin dude asking about his friend's spun bearing. Good luck with it man. Btw, I saw that car around here like 2 years ago, have you had it that long?

I know exactly what you mean. It's better to do things yourself, but it's best to do things with a partner. However, I'm not the most turbo tech savvy guy around, but there are a few relatively local guys you can meet through here and ECN that will give all the help you need.

You're buying both the good motor and the cracked block motors from him?

Bearings usually spin for a reason. Lack of lubrication is probably the leading cause of failure, especially apparent under higher loads. That's an easy fix if you know how to disassemble a short block.

Just pray it didn't eat out the crank and seats in the process. A good machine shop can tell you if it will bring it out of tolerance after grinding. But your still lookin at a bit of cash to have the crank ground and some new bearings fitted.

Spun bearing motors are like the lottery... sometimes you win and most times you loose.
