spun bearing help

spun bearing help
i found a motor with 8000 miles on it with a spun bearing. can anyone helo me out with why it spun with that many miles..
No one can without tearing it apart to see it in person.

i got it in sept. of 08. it sits at my dads house in bangor. im hopeing its back on the road really soon. i wanna try to find some ppl the know about srts to help me lol..ive worked on mine before and im pretty sure i can do the build myself i just want someone to check my work as im goin if you know what i mean lol..
I know exactly what you mean. It's better to do things yourself, but it's best to do things with a partner. However, I'm not the most turbo tech savvy guy around, but there are a few relatively local guys you can meet through here and ECN that will give all the help you need.

Bearings usually spin for a reason. Lack of lubrication is probably the leading cause of failure, especially apparent under higher loads. That's an easy fix if you know how to disassemble a short block.

Just pray it didn't eat out the crank and seats in the process. A good machine shop can tell you if it will bring it out of tolerance after grinding. But your still lookin at a bit of cash to have the crank ground and some new bearings fitted.
