It's GTS, not GTO covers.
And Niteshades can be found cheaper than Modern sells it. I bought mine at my local auto parts store a few years back.

No. It's because your covering your transparent lens w/ semi-transparent black paint. Go spray paint a light bulb and tell me how well you can see out of it.
Stock taillight bulbs aren't very bright in the first place, so when they are covered up by some black they are even harder to see. Especially during the day time.
Poor lights + black layers on top = poor visibility = people not knowing you're braking = rear ended.

2 layers is usually about perfect, not too dark so you can still see the light during the day.

the real reason why to wet sand is this. The night shades do not co on smooth. After drying you will see a slight texture. This slight texture, sort of like an orange peel, plus tint will diffuse the light coming out. If you wet sand the the night shade it will allow more light to come through and also make it look like you actually give a damn. but that is just me.

have you ever worked with this stuff?? or paint/body work at all?? i am asking cause you have no clue, DO NOT SAND THE NIGHTSHADES!! the only time i could see sanding the nightshades directly would be if you fucked up, put it on too thick, etc. two or three smooth even coats are super easy to do, then apply your chosen clear, then WETSAND the clear, buff out with a good quality rubbing/cutting compound, wax the tails when you wax the car and your good, my tails have three coats and extra bright bulbs and you can see my breaks a quarter mile away even in the afternoon sun
