LeMons was great I was keeping it quiet because 76th place is not great advertising for a race shop.
Basically we unloaded the car at the track after an all night thrash to get the brakes to work they did not. All day Friday we worked to get something anything out of them and we didnt. We pushed the car through tech with no brakes at 4:58pm (tech closed at 5) Working all night again on Friday we got the left front brake to work kind of, we took the green with brakes on 1 wheel!
We brought the car back in to try again to correct the problem, we got the front circuit to work!!!! Brakes on 2 wheels Ive never been so happy I went out turning slow laps until I started to get passed, believe it or not I have a competitive side so I started racing, ultimately I had a 3 lap battle with the 10th place BMW and the 34th place mustang of which I came out ahead.
Coming up to the carousel turn the car starts to break up and shuts off right before the entrance to the corner I got off the track and suddenly saw smoke and heard an explosion, Im getting out of the car when I see a Thunderbird rolling past me in the grass on fire.
The fault ultimately was a broken crank sensor wire that took us far too long to track down.
Sunday Sunday Sunday!!! Finally a sorted car we got Mark out early 3 laps later we are back in the pits with a blown headgasket. We ran the car with a blown headgasket for almost 3 hours when the oil-less, water-less, power-less engine finally seized
