shaved key holes

Post by slonoma98 » Mon Nov 21, 2005 2:20 pm

Hi guys and gals. Has anyone shaved just the keyholes on the front door handles? I saw a neon with it done on the front passenger door. I remember on the older integras we used to swap rear door handles into the front doors to give that clean look. Is this possible with neons?

03-05 front doors dont have the key locks if you have the keyless entry. not sure if you can use rear door handles in front .

You can swap the rear doors to the front... thats what a few have done but I dunno if they've ran into other problems or not with the linkages hooking up... but I haven't heard of such a problem so I think it'll swap just fine.

This started in the middle of the 2002 model year. :) There are few cars now days with passenger side keyholes. About half the cars made now days do not have trunk lock holes either. Its a sign of the times.

If you do not have the Sentry key system or a remote with your Neon you WILL have the keyholes. :)

wish i had keyless entry  my automatic locks consist of me reaching about the car unlocking it all by hand :P and if i want to open the trunk, i gotta cut the engine and walk out to it to pop it open... should i invest in getting power locks and remote trunk?

Do you have a keyhole in your passenger front door? Thats the only one that should be missing. :)

Just a question, but with no keyhole what do you do if your battery dies? Did you install somekind of remote hookup for jumper cables or a battery charger?

Have you tried to fold them down from inside the trunk?

all ya have to do is go to a junkyard and get a rear door handle from the drivers side and its a direct fit.... only thing you need to remove is the actual door lock rod when you take off the original. took me about 10 mins to do on my neon and i love it.
