Alright... New pics.

Post by 2005.Neon.SXT » Wed Jul 14, 2010 8:41 am

Was having some issues with the halo rings on the retros after washing the car. Couldn't figure out why the damn light was flickering on/off. Then it stayed on, but was dimmer than the other one. Then when I decided "fuck it, I'll just take some pictures real quick." it was bright... like it's literally doing it's own thing. Now, as of this morning, half the ring lights up. I had a similar issue with my eBay projectors, so I don't know if it's something to do with the engine bay wire harness? If someone's had an issue similar to this, please share... it's pretty mind-boggling.

Anyway, here's the pictures... enjoy =)

More stickers to come...
Image

Front end all done up :) Oh, and yes the paint is chipping. Brought it to the paint guy and showed him. "it's not supposed to be doing that." Said that I can bring it back to him to get it redone, but it'll be a little while till I do that. That big chunk in the center of the bumper, I was trying to pressure wash some bug splatter off and it just ripped the whole paint off right there :banghead: oh well.
Image

Rear end. Nothing new.
Image

Pillar gauges. Nothing new except that my oil pressure gauge, for some reason, lost it's color. The light blue isn't a light blue anymore, it's a... iono. Purple-ish blue. Happened after I got my tires changed. Don't ask me how that works out, but yea... Pretty upset.
Image

Gotta represent the Mopar with the Koreans!
Image

Odd angle. But cool, methinks.
Image

And the retros, LSP Style :D 6000K Bi-Xenon projectors, White halo ring, and blue "Demon Eyes" (which aren't hooked up yet).
Image

So that's about it. She's fairly done, as far as exterior mods. What I've done to her since I've been back from Afghanistan were:

Stock folding side mirrors (color-matched)
Front bumper & lip painted
Retro-fit headlights install
Brand new tires (Nitto 450's, 205/55/15)

Things I will be doing this upcoming weekend (weather permitting):

Color-match fog deletes
Repaint eyelids, and install
Attempt install of MM Inserts

Nothing else for the car for a while. Getting out of the Marine Corps, so I gotta watch my spending. Don't want to jump into the civilian world with no dough.

Any feedback, criticism, comments, props, et cetera are welcome. Thanks

looks really nice. I have had issues like you were talking about with the dimming lights and what not. Its usually the connector in the back not making good contact. and as for your gauge, i have the same ones, looks to me like someone pushed the button and its on the purple color instead of the blue color. Just cycle through the diff colors till you get it back to the one you want.

Yea, only the halo's dim, the projectors are fine. And I have cycled through the colors. It's weird cause that "light blue" color that the other 2 are on doesn't even exist on that middle gauge anymore  I just don't get it! lol...

Car looks great man.....

the color issue is becoming common on those glowshift gauges....the white led went out on my volt gauge and i lost half the colors LOL the gauges are decent but Im glad to be rid of them....Call Glowshift and see what they will do for you...my gauges had less than 5000 miles on them but the car sat for a year while I ripped her apart so they wouldnt do anything...understandable I guess....LOL

Alright, so it's not something that I did... it's just a common problem then? That's good to know. I've about had enough of my wires freakin out in the car. Good news: my voltage doesn't bounce anymore like it used to, but when it did it would bounce from 13.6-13.9. Now it's sitting calmly at 13.1

Yea, I'll get some without the headlights on. I was going to do that yesterday, but I forgot lol... what does your car look like now?

Ya man, sorry I never PM'd you. I got it last week lol. I'm guessing that I can just plug these into the wires that are already in my dash. If the ones you sent me are still dim, I'll attempt to rewire with what you gave me. But I'm hoping it's just because the overlays are overworked.

That's crappy man. I want to get it fixed soon, but I'm hoping that the second time around he does a better job. Thanks for the comment :)

That's what I'm thinking. I mean, it looks nice and everything... but it peels so easy. And he's the best one in town, so I don't want to be like "ok bitch, prep it better and it won't peel" lol. Plus he hooked me up by getting my mirrors painted for no charge.

Thanks for all the comments.

Lol yea. I was thinking about that, but oh well. She does do amazing work on the headlights. I am thoroughly impressed with the retros. Only issues that I've had have been user error as far as installing. Gonna diagnose the problem this weekend [halo ring & high beam on driver's side headlamp don't work].

Ya, I've been buggin the crap out of you lately. Sorta feel bad =/ lol. But I do appreciate it, CM. This Saturday, hopefully, I'm going to try and tear into it for an hour or two. It shouldn't take too long to figure out what's up. But I got a 24hr "Barracks Duty" tomorrow, then Saturday morning I'm driving up to my girl's.... then probably napping, lol. If it wasn't for duty, I'd most likely have the Demon Eyes hooked up too, but we'll see.
