i got the gtech pro rr
its not necessarily accurate but its very precise... i use it for back to back runs, or if i do a mod i can compare the differences afterward.
its just cool as a data log for things like putting runs up against each other, seeing the distance in shift times, etc.... id suggest going for the RR just for the computer connectability...

if you can see on that pic, i shifted at like 6200 which explains why the tq is about right while i didnt hit the max hp yet near 6500-6800 on my magnum. when i switch to "distance" i can clearly place the '00 323i against mine. the '00 323i bimmer happens to belong to a wrongfully bragging friend of my brothers whose parents happened to buy his car. he always tells everyone how badly he shits on my car when we race, though you can clearly see that i can climb to a higer speed quicker than his because of the "distance" plot on the RR software. the current screen is of the dyno. the only reason why it looks grainy and inaccurate is because i set the plot capture/refresh sample rate really low just to save space... otherwise it generates a realyl smooth curve, as if i was actually on a dyno.

So this thing does work....
Will it work on all cars? Like a 83 El Camino?

Yes it'll work.
It's as accurate as you make it. You can just plug it into the cigerette lighter and expect to be able to take off. You have to calibrate it then enter in the total weight of the car with you in it. The better you calibrate it the accuracy is increased. Every time the weight changes away from you have it calibrated it your numbers will change, not much but if you throw in yoru spare tire by accident thats 40lbs and if you have full tank of gas when you had a 1/4 before... it adds up. If you set it at 3000lbs and your car is 2800lbs, general rule is every 100lbs is a .10 of a second so your 1/4 mile times would be off and since the hp and torque is calculated off that it would also be off. If you want your number to be accurate and if you're comparing two parts you have to make sure all variables in your run are the same (how full your tank is ect...) That part of the calibration really only affects 60',1/8 mile and 1/4mile... skidpad results won't necessarly be affected, only if the gyrometer is off but the new G-Tech's calibrate those automatically.
Oh and... if testing your 60',1/8 or 1/4... and whp and tque... you'll have to be on level ground if you want it to be accurate.
