Got a question on outside appearance modifications. Questions about body kits, exterior lighting, just anything thats a visual mod on the "exterior" of the car. Ask those questions here.

You could probably mix some black paint with flat clear and spray em too.

I'm curious about nite shades, I know it looks good...but wouldn't you want the asshole behind you to stop in time rather than not see you brake and then slam into the back of you?? :tardbang:

you can see it just fine, even in bright sun, i replaced my bulbs with some high output bulbs and you cannot even tell they are tinted when i hit the breaks,

and to the op, just use a flat clear, eather rattle can or a auto clear with flattener, easy as pie

To save yourself some grief, wasted effort and a ticket, make sure there aren't any laws saying that your taillights must be red in color and the reflector visible from _____ feet away, blah blah blah...

Just a thought in case you haven't looked yet, if you care.

You will be shot if you did that in California!

j/k but for those flat looking tails I'll say no, they looks like the car has experienced some kind of paint storm...

If you want flat red, just spray them with flat, or satin clear. Like theTeejmiester mentioned.Or a good clear gloss, and wet sand. That way they retain all the oem functionality, and the look matches the car.

of course it is illegal, in every state that complies with Federal Motor Vehicle Stature S108, and that is most if not all states it is not legal

read

http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/import/fmvss/index.html

but who cares, i have had cops behind me many, many times and they have never even said anything cause of how bright they are when i depress the break pedal.

its up to the cops discretion though teej. i had my tails lightly tinted, not even the 3rd light and some dick cop gave me a ticket. not tryin to argue but just kinda sayin be prepared to get tickets if u do the flat black. ( i know u just said u wanted to do flat red.) for the red, why dont u crack them open and paint he inside part where the leds are red instead of the outside lense?

All I did with mine was two coats of niteshades and they're kind of flat looking. Bright enough at night too. Didn't do the 3rd brake light and you can see it at night.
