door handles

i have the black handles on my SE and want them to match the body, i called a few body shops and they said they didnt think they could do it because it's "textured". So i called the parts store and the painted handles are like $62.50, thats crazy. So would I have to buy some used ones from someone on the forums or something, has anyone ever had their handles painted? I thought I sanded them down that they could be painted but I guess not????? If anyone could help me out that'd be awesome, thanks.

sand them with 320 or 220 and primer. you may need to sand and primer a few times but it will work.

i cant believe a body shop told you they couldnt do those....they can paint anything if they set their mind to it. i had the texture off of my interior peices sanded before the body shop painted it, and it wasnt a big issue, so i dont see why black handles would be?

either because they don't want you business... or because they wanna charge you an arm and a leg for the extra work

or they are just being lazy and dont feel like doing more than they have to for anyone

alright cool, i'll sand and prime them then i'll get them painted. thanks for the help everyone.
