Speed/Cruise Control

Post by Canada » Tue Nov 22, 2005 11:17 pm

Hey Guys and Gals,

I was looking through the 2005 Neon Acceessories mag, and noticed that speed control was an accessory. Since I bought a base with just A/C and sunroof, I wanna ask...

How hard is it to install afterward? BRR or other, Diablo?

I drive alot of highway and am kicking myself for not getting it, but oh well, so, again, how hard?

Thanks

i dont think they are too hard. my dad did one on our old shadow. the dealer charges about $300 for parts and labor (thats how much it was when i bought my car)

Never installed one but if it comes as a kit it'll come with instructions on how to do it. Looking at it on my car it doesn't seem very complex really. Hardest part is probably going to be running the electrical.

It's also great for restraining myself to keep to the speed limit. :)

Back up. Anyone installed it themselves? Also, is there a DCx P/N for it with a MSRP? My bro just go t a new Neon w/ cruise, and I want it even more now...

Go to yer fave dealer and ask for a kit price.

The kit is pretty much plug-n-play.

Bolt on the servo and run the vacuum lines and any wire harnesses included in the kit. THe connectors MIGHT be on the car already.

The hardest part will be pulling the steering wheel and installing the switch and replacing the airbag clockspring with the one from the kit. When you change the clockspring, MAKE DAMN SURE the wheels are straight ahead.
