Painting under the hood...

Post by HazmatJeff » Sun Aug 08, 2010 9:18 pm

I want to paint some parts under the hood. I wanted to paint the block I think it's called, it says 2.0 on it. How would I go about painting it red? Would it be easier to take it off or mask everything off? Do I just remove all the bolts and it's pop off or are there little parts that are inside?

What else would look good painted red? Caps and other random parts?

Where can I find an injector cover?

Thanks for any help guys!

to paint the block youd need to take out the engine, what you're thinkin of is the valve cover. You can remove it and paint it off the car, just make sure to prep it very well.

Is it an easy thing to remove?

What would the prep consist of?

injector cover somone is selling here in the for sale section i think..

the valve cover is plastic, so just clean real good with degreaser, scuff up and paint with high temp paint... im going to the junkyard tommorrow to get a 1gn metal valve cover for mine...

you will need to get a gasket kit to reinstall it.

It's mainly expensive, due to it being an aluminum cover.

The only cheap ones like that are long gone. (Mancini Racing - Clearance $40  )
