04 Neon SXT MD

so, i'm looking into getting a new car, because, right now, i'm thinking my transmission is shot.
I'm just looking to see how much people would pay for it.
worth $6000 in good condition on KBB.

i figured i'd get stuff like that, and it sucks, but i had to get it home

the thermostat was replaced and it runs fine now, but won't shift all the up into what i assume is fifth gear.

thermostat or not. overheating, and 3 hours at redline. not good. i mean i'm sure you could pawn it off on some unsuspecting person who has no idea the history of the car for a couple thousand, but thats a major dick move

haha, i'd love to do that, but that's terrible.haha. i just don't feel like dealing with $3k of repairs when the car isn't even worht that much...

It's all about what you're looking for man. Find something that can do what you want, then see how feasible it is. Although, getting rid of your car w/ any sort of start toward another will be rough (due to your paint, engine problems, etc...). If you've got a beater to tool around in, by all means take somewhat of a hit and get it gone (don't be a dick seller), but if you haven't, then search for options so you aren't without a car forever AND no money for another one.

If you decide to keep it man im doing a swap here in a few weeks.. I will have the tranny out of my 05 sxt and a ton of other dtuff to go with it...car has 27,000 miles and has been babied...Let me know..

sooo..... i went out today, and had my buddy look at it, and we both took a second look, and we're thinking the transmission shift solenoid is locked up, which means the trans may not need replacing, and if that is fixed, and the car runs fine, then i'm thinking my asking price would increase slightly, but still not near $6000...
