transmission pan for 01 3spd with a drain plug?

is there anywhere to get one?, i did a search and found tons for the 4spd with a drain plug... cant find one for the 3spd..

i want to do the drop pan and filter change, and would like a drain plug for future draining......

Have a bung brazed into the pan, and then get a plug to fit it. That's what I'm going to be doing next fluid/filter change.

I don't think you will find an aftermarket pan, let alone one with a drain plug.

Could just buy a new one, and have a drain plug brazed/TIG welded in. Then swap it when you change the fluid. Would save some down time. It would already be clean for welding.

hmm, ok, i have guys at work that can weld.. sux i can find one for the 4spd, but not the 3spd..

The 3 speed hasn't been used in too much since '01 or '02, so there is going to be little in the mainstream for upgrades. You could try Level 10, but I don't see anything currenty on their site. They did sell upgrade parts for the 31th ATX. Might need to call, But I doubt you will beat the price of the OEM, A weld in drain, and free welding.

a quick google and i found ppl are welding a nut to the outside of the pan, drilling a hole and using a nut and washer... that way more comes out when you drain it and nothing is sticking up into the pan... sound like a good idea? seems simple enough.... i havent looked up bungs yet but do they go into the pan?

Well if you are pulling the pan, it doesn't matter if a table spoon is left in there. Even if you are not pulling the pan, it doesn't matter if a table spoon is left in there.

Like those ppl are going to wait the 5 or 6 hours it takes to fully get every drop out. Even then they still drip.

If you are that worried about it, have the bung brazed onto the outside of the pan. The little bit that would be left isn't going to make that big of a difference when the ~4 new quarts are added in.

not really worried about it, just wanted to do it the best way the first time.. so i like to ask questions...

demons, where did u find that pan for 16$ is that the dealer? rockauto had it for 22$ with a diff part number

That would be Dealer price. No shipping if you pick it up. Sometimes the dealer cost is better than aftermarket.
