New to the fourms 1st ever neon

Hey whats up my name is mike and i just bought my first neon to mod out and goin to be using the search button like crazy before i ask any repeat questions, but let me understand this i seen the sticky on the diffence between the years of the 2nd gen neons,now to my ? if i was to swtich my headlights and tail lights and hood on my 2000 i could put a 03 body kit on my car? just trying to figure out cuz ait makes a kit that i like alot for 03 thanx for your time and the hood and lights would be after market

Yes sir. Buy an '03+ body kit and slap some 03+ heads and tails on your car and you're good to go.

thanks guys i have always like neons and have drove them as dd's for my friends but never thought i would ever own one, i got rid of a 240sx for a neon, i have been doin my searching and love the how to section its awsome, been trying to find a single to dual exhaust on the net with google, i dont want the srt style with the tips i want the ones with the 4 inch tip, or will i have to make a custom exhaust set up, and any good advice on rebuilding the engine like i said im new to neon's and want to try to do pure motor at first. thanx again guys i feel so welcome to the group and btw here is a pic of my car

i have been doin my research and was goin to do a srt swap but by the time i paid for the motor and tranny and did the atx to mtx conversion its just seems to be easier to slap a turbo on it and build the motor with the 2.0 plus i dont want to push to much hp cuz its still goin to be a daily driver and have the kit picked out that im gettin and its from asp but if i was goin to switch to mtx how much would that cost?

^holy crap! a newb that actually knows how to search instead of sayin "how I put trubo on my neon. wanna have srt without big cost". And kudos to you for looking at the ASP kit. Several people here are running the kit, or various pieces from Erick (esteinmaier) such as glasswars and dblsg off the top of my head.

MTX swap wouldn't be awful. Keep your eye out on here for a trans, also neons.org and your local CL. Your car is an 00 so you'd have a cable clutch setup. So you should prob look for a trans setup out of a 2000
