just lost my job

Post by dtjackten » Wed Aug 18, 2010 9:53 am

after hearing a rumor from a friend that someone had just gotten a job at a local dealer for the parts manager...

last night i called the owner after hearing the rumor.. and said hey i just heard something and wanted to check something... i siad that i heard a rumer that someone got a job at a dearship in the town that i had worked for a parts manager..

he said "no you are doing a find job and to not worry about it" i said ok have a good night... i just wanted to make sure i was not going to get blind sided is all...

something about the conversation seemed odd or out of place however...

well today when i got to work, the owner that i talked to the night before let me go, saying there were "problems" to bad none of these problems were ever brought up to me...

needless to say i am one of many americans jobless, and looking..... life goes on, i will not miss the long hours, and low pay that dealership gave me...

just hope i find something soon......

Sucks!

If the guy was genuinely concerned, he would have offered to use him as reference.

Like the two owners don't communicate... Place will be gone soon, if that is the truth.

Meh, it isn't going to get your job back. :(

Forget them, and move on.

Sorry to hear that you lost your job man. It bites, but as you say life goes on. I like to think that when one door closes, another one opens. Wishing you well and hoping you find something acceptable soon.

And so closes that chapter. You said you hated reading it anyway. Now all you can do is turn the page knowing that the next chapter will be better.

Good luck, man.

well i went on the job hunt yesterday, and as i thought when people find out i am available i would start to get phonecalls... well i went to the local napa, and fred roberts auto parts stores... BOTH are looking for someone, they are looking to hire in the next week or so...

then

i got a phone call from the driver at napa in dansville, (deliverd my parts to me at the dealership i worked at) he said that he was telling ALL the accounts on what happend and main tire exchange, the service manager wanted to talk to me as soon as posible.... so that making me very happy.... i will be going there today to talk to him... and putting my apps in at the other two.... hoping to have a job in the next few weeks....

That baffles me, too. :withstupid:

If there was a problem, why didn't he just bring it up then, or at least tell say that 'we need to sit down and talk' ??

My Dad used to have a bunch of engine work done at the Napa next to the HSBC.

yeah, the owner at my old job was mostly retired, and was at the shop not much threw the year.... but when i started there around 19-20 months ago, i never really fit in, i only got along with 3 other people at the dealership.... those three i will deffently miss... but the rest honestly can go fuck themselves.... i strive on doing my job well, and keep customers happy.... THAT is why i am in high demand in the work feild... unfortunatly at the old dealership they dont care about customers they care about the bottom line.... and i HIGHLY disagree with all of it... the way the old shop ran was a joke... i could go on and on with how they fucked numerous customers over... and how they tried to make me pay 3k over what they paid for on a dodge intrepid... (nothing like giving your employees a deal on a car right ) but i wont get into that....

i am thinking that this is all going to work into my favor, i did not like going to work at my old job, this one i am going to make sure that i do before i say i will take the new job...

today is the big day for MAIN tire, i cant wait to see what they have to offer....

The ones around here seem to always be in very rough shape compared to other cars of the same year and most have blown struts, bouncing everywhere. My step-dad had a 2nd gen (2.7l or 3.2l) that was WAY slower than any Neon. Then one day the front passenger wheel fell off. Same forest green color as my Neon but more rust even though it was newer and had lower mileage.

He's okay and now owns a Jeep Liberty Limited

I'm still debt free rocking my gas saving Neon

well the last two days have been crazy...

main tire is interested in me for sure... i am waiting to hear back from them, the money i think is going to be there but it is a line of work that i have not yet done, big truck parts, i know the parts are mostly the same concept and all, but i will also be doing outside sales..... alot involved in that job, and money may be good... (still have not talked about it in detail yet)

but i got a call yesterday and went to talk to the DM at fred roberts, and they want me to start ASAP, they want me no ifs and or butts, the problem for me is the money..... they are not offering me what i really need.... granted the drive from home to roberts is conciterably closer, it will all depend on what main tire tells me for money.... i mean a dollar more is not worth my drive time, ware and tear on a car, exc.... i seem to get along with the guys at roberts better, or atleast seem more comftorbale with them than i do at main.... sometimes money is not everything in my book......

i am hoping main tire calls me today, so i can figure out what i am doing.... all these questions are honestly stressing me out....

I dunno about selling parts you aren't familiar with, I'd be leery there. Otherwise sounds like you're in a pretty good position, good luck!
