I think y'all are over looking something.. They are TOWING a trailer with the SRT8. With the old SRT and the center exit exhaust it was a bitch and a half to tow anything with it. Looks like they listened to people and redesigned the back half.MyNeonSaysHi wrote:[

I want to see some diesel engines in American sedans for 2012/13, I'd buy a diesel 300 or Avenger

Yup, Chrysler is working on making the Viper more Street friendly so the Corvette buyer will steer more towards buying a Viper instead of a Vette.Midnight_Rider wrote:http://www.allpar.com/news/index.php/20 ... lap-record

No, no, what I meant is that this wasn't some modified car that broke the track record- you could walk into a dealership and buy the same car (well, if you were incredibly wealthyBlackRoseRacing wrote:Yup, Chrysler is working on making the Viper more Street friendly so the Corvette buyer will steer more towards buying a Viper instead of a Vette.Midnight_Rider wrote:http://www.allpar.com/news/index.php/20 ... lap-record

They couldn't do any worse than Daimler. I still say that the current Charger should have been badged as a Coronet (then DCX could have marketed a coupe based on the Coronet and called that a Charger).DoubtedNeon wrote:I just hope that fiat doesnt ruin the mopar culture with a bunch of family cars.

Yeah, I honestly don't think it can get worse..
I really don't mind how Chrysler is going right now, great interior and I love the new designs on the cars.

I own a Dodge Avenger (a Cerberus - DCX product) ... it's a POS compared to the earlier Dodge Stratus ... Daimler was only expert @ luxury cars, like the Chrysler 300 and Dodge ChargerMidnight_Rider wrote: Amazing that Daimler couldn't have had the same results since the current lineup is pretty much their doing. **shakes head and rolls eyes at DCX** [/off-topic]

I still don't see how the Caliber was such a screwup. It's a very useful vehicle.
I think most people that have a problem with the Caliber ever truly experienced the car.

It looks like the Pontiac Vibe / Toyota Matrix and has a Nissan Versa transmission ... when the Caliber first came out, I drove one at the C-P-D-J dealership I've been dealing with since 1970 ... I told the Sales Manager, "if you can't come up with something better than this, my next small car will be Japanese or Korean !"racer12306 wrote:I still don't see how the Caliber was such a screwup. And you can't truly experience a car in a simple test drive.
If we could fit a twin stroller in it we would keep ours for many many years.
It has a lot of room, especially when the back and passenger seats are folded down. It's no performance car and most automatics bore me so this is no different. The trans is decent, but being a CVT it takes some getting used to.
I do feel that they royally failed in the fuel economy class. Ours is getting 22mpg on my wife's drive to work. She does have some stop lights but considering it's rated at 28mpg it should be higher.

Good thing that this doesn't come with an MTX or I might have to break my rule about not liking bigger cars.

Ummm, yep. I drove one, however the fact is that the wheelbase is 105 inches on a Neon and 108 on an Avenger. Sooo... "doesn't seem to be any bigger" makes complete sense.
Unless you're a moron, that is.
