There isn't really much of a need for that unless you are making serious power.

normal 14x5.5 steelies with 22x8 slicks will probably be sufficient

Too bad there aren't any 22x8x14 tires available :-(.

Get a set of VW or PT cruiser steel wheels. They're 15x6, and will hold a good sized slick. Either those, or standard 15" alloys.

Check out summit and jegs for slicks.

What are you looking to do for power? If you are only slightly modded you are going to have to launch hella hard to make it worth while. And I mean like 6000rpm and dropping the clutch. That's a perfect way to break stuff.

That's pretty much the type of launch Frank was talking about, I think. Very bad to do unless you want to break stuff.

Yes, I do know that launching a car with stock axles/etc at high RPMs is bad, that's a proven fact.

I don't know what it feels like to do so, however.

What were those guys times and his 60's. The problem might not be the traction but the track or the driver mod.

You really only need slicks when you start getting into the 14's or 13's.

If lower power cars, like ours, you want to spin off the line to get into the power band quicker.

I spun hard off the line and rode it til it stopped and ran one of the quickest times a stock SXT has run.

It's not all about getting the car to dead hook, it's about managing traction and using the track to better your times.

Plus I'm just that badass of a driver, even better than Jerry. :D

Still, that launch, was horrible. You can see how hard the car is spinning at the line. Driver mod is needed.

You never saw how hard mine was spinning from a 5000rpm launch

since you didn't say anything about it you acknowledge that i am a better driver than you.
