I like my car
I too hate the SRT-D bumper and think it looks like a bad aftermarket ebay bodykit. Option 1 is the right way to go.

Buy Spanky's SRT-D bumper and put a mopar lip on it
PM me for your 03+ PCM SKIM/VIN flashing needs. Neon PCMs Plus
No f*** that generic mopar lip. Everybody has it. (that's right, I censored myself).
The whole point of option 2 was to not have any lips to add unnecessary weight or break hitting uneven pavement/speed bumps. If I put the mopar lip on the SRT-D, I might as well have just suck with the SRT-4 bumper I had on it. I like the fact that the SRT-D holds itself up high enough to line up with the sides of the car without the weird little r/t skirts. The biggest thing I have an issue with going the SRT-D way is losing the SRT rear bumper. Without that bumper, I'd have to go with the ugly license plate bulge rear bumper and the 3" exhaust would just look stupid.
Half of me is with you guys, lips kits look good and it looks cool to have the car all squat and close to the ground. However, at the same time, I don't like the added weight and breakability. Then again, if anything's going to break, it will be the exhaust first. Also, I like the circle headlight look much better than the old 95-02 look. After a day of looking at SRT's I've found myself going, "ew, is that what my car looks like?!" just because the front headlights scream, I'MAPEONLOOKATME!
IF I get the SRT-D lip on and if it NEEDS a lip, I would go with the Mach 1 lip for its flexibility and no-need-for-paint-ibility.
And yea, I am buying Spanky's bumper.

I wish there was a bumper period that looked good on neons besides the srt-4 (kinda) and the stock 03+. The Chrysler is way overrated. We really needed a company to make a better front end, but I don't think that day will ever come.
Still if its between srt-d and chrysler go chrysler. the d version is just crap imo even with a lip its goofy. kinda like Angelina Jolie's lips. At first you're like well its ok and then it starts to weird you out. Then you can't do anything but stare at em. Srt-d bumper = shivers

If you want practical, go with a stock 2003-05 bumper. They're cheap, easy to find,
and have plenty of clearance.

So, I've decided to like my car again. Seems Carlisle and a facelift is just what I needed.
This, again credited to r34, is what I planned a while ago on my car looking like at Carlisle 2011...

It ended up looking like this...

Not too big of a difference, except I dented my chrome-lipped rims, gave up on side exits, and still can't afford a Kaminari hood. Oh, and I recently made the decision to paint the Chrysler grill chrome trim black to put more emphasis on the wings.
I like it. Just wanted to post this up somewhere. I'm happy with my car again. YAY!!!
See, it blends with the others

... pretty soon, though....
(R34)
yes, oh yes.
