ecu swap cams

turned the magnet counterclockwise and still have the code. should i get a cps sensor from a 2000 2.4 stratus? or 97 2.0 neon? or 97 2.4 stratus?

They are all the same.

It's all in the magnet. It needs to be almost exactly 90 degrees to fit into the "window". At this point I would highly recommend just getting 2.0 cams. They perform better and there is no guesswork.

Also, if you chipped or cracked the magnet face in any way, removing the dowels, it will need replaced. Any breaks, or chunks missing will alter the magnetic signal.

ok i'll try gettn a new cps sensor then if that doesnt work 2.0 cams. could the ecu not seeing a cps sig make it turn over longer to start?

I ran without a cam potition sensor and it does take longer cranking to get it kicked over

yeah its running pretty good .. going to pull apart tommorw to get some 2.0 dohc cams.
